Malaysia Ranks Number 1 Muslim Travel Destination
According to the MasterCard – Crescent Rating Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) 2015,
Malaysia has been named as the number one destination across the globe
in the Muslim travel market.
Malaysia took the top spot on the list, for the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)
destinations, as per the results of the research.
Malaysia is followed by Turkey, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Malaysia scored an index score of 83.8, followed by Turkey at 73.8 and UAE at 72.1.
As far as the non-OIC destinations are concerned, Singapore came first that also saw
Thailand, UK, South Africa and France make the top five.

Tourism in Malaysia
Tourism is a huge sector of the Malaysian economy, with over 57.1 million
domestic tourists generating RM37.4 billion (US$11 billion) in tourist
receipts in 2014, and attracting 27,437,315 international tourist arrivals,
a growth of 6.7% compared to 2013.
Total international tourist receipts increased by 3.9% to RM60.6 billion
(US$19 billion) in 2014.
United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) listed Malaysia
as the 10th most visited country in 2012.

MS 1900:2005
Quality Management System-Requirements From Islamic
Perspective dated 10 October 2008.
This certification is a continuation of the MS ISO 9001: 2008
Quality Management System dated 3 November 2006.
In order to make this a Muslim-Friendly
MS 1900: 2005 is applied.
The aim is to ensure that facilities for Muslim customers are
satisfied and in addition to the management and
administration formed a shariah compliant.
With this certification, the belief by Muslim customers are
guaranteed both in terms of facilities provided and
guaranteed management shariah compliant.

HALAL RESTAURANT
The property that has a Halal restaurant is preferred by
all Muslim travelers.
PNB hotels and resorts provide the ultimate comfort of
HALAL restaurants to our customers.
The restaurant is provided a Halal certification from
JAKIM.
PNB Perdana Hotel & Suites On The Park has two
restaurants with a Halal certification, The 39
Restaurant and 10 Binjai Restaurant.

PRAYERS ROOM (SURAU)
Ease of another Muslim is like preparing a
congregational prayer.
Most customers prefer to find accommodation that
have a prayers room for them to pray.
Each hotel and resort at PNB provides separate
prayers room for male & female.
At PNB Perdana Hotel & Suites On The Park Kuala
Lumpur, prayers room are available at Level 5, and
the prayers area can cater for up to 100 members at
one time.

AL-QURAN DAN PRAYERS MATS
Al-Quran and prayer mats are also available to
cater to our Muslim customers.
Muslim customers usually find accommodations
that provides room/space for their worship.
With the advent of the Quran and prayer mats,
customers will have the eased of performing the
ritual even when traveling on vacation.
For female Muslim customers, the management is
also providing a veil. And the provision of
customer demand (upon request).

QIBLAH DIRECTION IN EACH ROOM.
Each accommodation provided by the hotel and
resort at PNB comes with the Qiblah signs.
The aim is for the convenience of our Muslim
customers to pray in the right direction of the
Qiblah.
Qiblah direction is determined ​by an officer
from the Department of Religious Affairs.
The customer does not need to worry if they left
their compass at home.

“SERTU” PROCESS AND CLEANING OF
ROOMS
“Sertu” process adopted is based on the Manuals
from JAKIM.
The purpose of “Sertu” process is carried out to
convince customers that the facilities provided
are protected from non-Halal food sourced.
Taharah soap which is recognized by JAKIM is
used in “Sertu”process.
For room cleaning, the concept of at-Taharah is
put in practice where every room will be clean in
accordance with the Shariah.

The management also provides pool facilities for female
Muslim customers.
By providing these facilities, Muslimah customers will

Shura practiced in every department is to discuss any

the best way to solved the conflict.
The shariah compliant Shura is like giving the staffs the
opportunity to give any insight, a good way to communicate
and avoid any conflict by practicing good manners.

INDUSTRY
For SMI products used in the hotel restaurant and
resort at PNB, appointed Shariah officer will make
a regular checks on the premises of the SMI.
The purpose of the inspection is to ensure that
sources of ingredients used are halal, while
ensuring a secure food preparation area is clean
and safe.

The Objective of Islamic Law
The purpose of implementation of Shariah Management System
(MS 1900:2005) is to fulfill the objective of shariah.
Shariah aims at five objectives for people, that is to protect their
religion, life, intellect, progeny and property.
The example of PNB Perdana Hotel & Suites On The Park’s practice

- Tourism Queensland – 28% increase in the first 4
months of 2012, arrival from the Middle East as
compared to same period the previous year.
