the lake stretches East the mountains that fringe
its shoreline become increasingly larger and more
scenic with open high alpine peaks. Mellow open
and partially treed meadows to larger mature treed
slopes make great skiing. With a maximum depth
of 506 metres the lake is one of the deepest lakes
in Canada. Boaters, anglers, and wildlife and back
country enthusiasts marvel at is beauty.
Cariboo Mountains
The Cariboo Mountains are the northernmost
sub range of the Columbia Mountains which also
includes the Selkirks, Monashees and Purcells to the
south. The Cariboo Mountains are entirely within the
province of British Columbia, Canada. The range is
7,700 km² in area, about 245 km in length (SE-NW)
and about 90 km at its widest (SW-NE).
AREA DATA
The surrounding geography to Silvertip is a vast
expanse of spectacular, pure mountain wilderness.
Nearby Wells Grey Park shares much of its traits
and is known as a world-class destination for
canoeing, rafting, kayaking, fly-fishing, hiking,
camping and horseback riding; the perfect setting
for an eco-adventure/private heli-ski club, lodge,
or retreat. In every direction from the lodge you
have stunning vistas and remarkable geographic
features such as Little Niagara Falls just 3 km
west of the lodge, deep canyons, volcanic cones,
brooding old-growth forests and raging whitewater rivers, serene back country lakes and wildlife
galore - grizzly and black bears, moose, mountain
caribou, goats, wolves and waterfowl.
Quesnel Lake
Quesnel Lake is a glacial lake/fjord that has two
main arms - East and North. Extending from its
western edge eastwards and up the East Arm
the lake stretches almost 100 km in length and
75 kms in length extending up the North Arm. As

RECREATION
The summer season offers an unbeatable
wilderness adventure experience. With Quesnel
Lake as the focal point you have some of the best
big lake fresh water fishing in BC, miles of shoreline
to kayak along dotted with creeks and waterfalls
entering the lake, beachcombing along sandy
beaches, and rocky shores, then of course with a
lake this big power boating, water skiing, or wake
boarding. On land you have direct access to remote
back country for hiking, fishing, or hunting, how
about heli assisted recreational options opening
the door up to back, “back” country adventures!
Other options include horseback riding, or motor
sports along old logging roads. Or just kick back
and relax (hot tub, cold or warm drink on the patio),
kick your feet around the water, take a VERY
refreshing dip in the water and enjoys the sights
and sounds offers at Silvertip Lodge. I have been
to many remote areas of BC and I must say this
is at or near the top for pure geographic splendor
with the adventure beginning on the scenic flight
into the lodge.
In winter the big draw is the consistently deep, dry
snow that falls on the mountain slopes. With a
exclusive heli-ski tenure that expands 1,444 sq km,
well over 125 established ski areas and runs within
you and your private group of 10, 15, perhaps 20
guests will sure have some options and untracked
lines to carve out. Other winter options are cross
country skiing or snowshoeing, and snowmobiling.
Take a look at a YouTube video showing some of
the summer and winter recreational activities:
