Estonian Golf courses
Estonia is a new golf destination for
golfers in Eastern Europe. Golf is rapidly developing in this country. Even
ten years ago there was one golf
course – now there are seven and one
more is going to be built in the nearest
future. And if you want to know why to
come to Estonia to play golf – it is
because it can be combined with Spatreatments which are also gaining
popularity or with a heritage tours in
Estonian towns – both day tours and
nightlife. Below are the descriptions of
Golf courses in Estonia – existing and
the ones that are still going to be built.
Another possibility is to join golf playing and beer tasting – as the culture of
breweries in Estonia is a long and wellestablished one. So you may go on a
beer tour along with playing golf.
Restaurants and nightclubs are also
worth visiting. The cuisine is varied and
the styles of the restaurant is anything
from medieval to ultramodern.

Niitvälja Golf Course
Niitvälja golf course was completed in its full measures in 1994. The oldest 18-hole course in the Baltic, it is quite
a challenge to strong club-players, but at the same time it is also not too complicated for the beginners. If, of

If there is something in Niitvälja, which can be considered easy, it is the greens, but this assumption keeps only
homogeneous and unnoticeable inclination of the greens becomes evident. Even with one-meter putts it is
crucial to consider the green attentively, because otherwise there might occur unpleasant surprises.
It can be said that the golf course at Niitvälja is well in balance. There are 2 long and 2 shorter par-3s. Some par-4
in two just by a long hit. Others require mastering fade, draw and a straight hand.
The length of the course from the back teas is 6411 m, from teas for men 5854 m, from teas for women 5100 m.
The slope is 137 for white teas, 131 for men/142 for women for yellow teas, 123 for men/133 for women for red
teas. The par is 72.

Estonian Golf and Country Club, Jõelähtme
Estonian Golf & Country Club golf complex is made up of an 18-hole Championship Course built on the seaside
and in a mature forest and a 9-hole British links style South Course with its renewed stone fences, junipers and
nationally protected ancient sites. The facility also boasts an extensive practice facility to help develop all facets
and large pre-historic stones in the middle of the fairways, seaside and Jägala river delta with its soviet time
hanging bridge make it an exceptional golf course at its best. On one side, the seaside holes on the Championship

The driving range at EGCC is over 100 metres
wide and 250 metres long, allowing over 50

in Estonia.
EGCC was founded in May 2005. Its par is 72, the length is 6470 m – pro, 5900 m for men, 5180 m for women.
Slopes are 147 – white slope, 135 – yellow slope, blue slope 127 for men/143 for women, red slope 120 for
men/137 for women. In 2008, July 25-27 EGCC was a venue for Estonian Amateur Golf Open.

How to get there:
From Tallinn you can get to Estonian Golf & Country Club if drive
along Peterburi(Narva) road. If you get to the Maardu lake
(should be on your right) then drive along for more 4 kilometers
and then just before thight pinus-hedge (on your left) turn left,
and Rebala (there is a special road area to make the turn). After
direction to the EGCC) you should turn right just behind this
road. Then you have to drive until to the Jõelähtme church, what
should be on your left. Being there you have to make a acuteangle turn to left and then after 15 meters make a quick turn to
you see the welcome board, then you are here. Nearby airport: Tallinn (around 30 km)

White Beach Golf, Pärnu
White Beach Golf course is situated in Valgeranna, close to
the sea. The course was engineered by Kosti Kuronen.
This course contains a lot of water. In addition to the river,
several lakes and ponds have been dug and the land
masses from these have been used to shape the fairways
into a dune landscape of links character. White Beach Golf
enjoyment to the club player and even the beginner.

Otepää Golf, Otepää
This picturesque golf course, situated within a few
minute's drive of Estonia's summer and winter
capital Otepää, was designed by course architect
Pekka Wesamaa. Close to the eventful centre of
Otepää, yet far enough from the bustle of the city
and right in the heart of the natural life of Otepää
Nature Park – in beauty, peace and silence.
By establishing this golf course, southern Estonia
has gained yet another popular summer and
year-round activities, Otepää golf course can be
opportunity to play ordinary but also extraordinary - winter golf. We also have the exciting annual
winter golf tournament for every athletic soul who
loves the wintry countryside. What makes it all
exceptional in yet another way is the panorama as
if painted on as a background: hills, lakes, ancient

Suuresta Golf
The golf course is located in Suuresta and is the closest golf course to the center of Tallinn. There is a 19
km and only a 20-minute drive south from the city
centre of Tallinn conveniently close to the highway
and airport in the direction of Tartu. The site
includes beautiful undulating hills and has a rich
tion of the new nine holes started in 2006 and new
holes were opened on 31.7.2008.
Architect Pekka Sivula, SAFA, has with several year
design experience managed to create the course to
be a beautiful, harmonic entity, which is functionin
on the terms of the nature.
In the 9-hole course during the three frst fairways te player gets the feel of the course at its sourthern end without any bigger hindrances. the fourth fairway is already a little more challenging - the stream and ponds at the
eastern side of the course require accuracy when directing the
feeling regardless of the bunkers. Fairway number eight to the
west and number nine when returning to the club are again
more challenging because of the water obstacle.

The von Stackelberg Hotel has a very interesting history connected with the presence of the von
Stackelberg family in Estonia. The house was commissioned in 1874 by Baron Theophil von Stackelberg and completed the following year. Baron Theophil von Stackelberg and his family lived in the
house for 6 years until it was sold to Doctor Johannes Fick in 1881.The conference facility in the
courtyard of the hotel is the former old horse stable of the estate, built at the same time as the rest of the
house. The house was a socalled “City Estate”. Various von Stackelbergs had previously also owned such city
