Board to Begin Nominating
Process for Directors

Is the Internet fast enough for you? Yadkin Telecom’s engineers

Yadkin Valley’s Board of Directors now consists of seven members
serving staggered three-year terms. At the April 27, 2013 Annual
Meeting, Yadkin Valley Telephone members will elect two directors to the Board. The two seats represent the West Yadkin and
Iredell area.
A Nominating Committee will be selected in late January to
begin the election process. At that time, individuals wishing to
be considered for nomination should contact a member of the
Committee whose names will be available through our Business
Office.
One of our competitor’s network is slow
at peak times, like evenings and
weekends. This slowness isn’t good
for any use of the Internet, but
especially bad for video streaming.
Election information, including requirements for being nominated
by petition, is explained in the Bylaws, which are located
in the front section of the Yadtel Telecom Telephone Directory.
This year’s Annual Meeting will be held at Peace Haven Baptist
Church, Booger Swamp Road, Yadkinville, NC.

How To Claim Your Capital Credit Refund
This past December, Yadkin Valley Telephone gave a boost to
the local economy refunding $500,000 to its cooperative members. The December refund was 15% of the 2011 allocation
(approximately $344,000) and 8% of the remaining 1993 allocation (approximately $156,000). Customers refunded $30
or less received that amount as a credit on their December or
January bill. Refund checks over $30 were mailed to the last
known address of the member. Some were undeliverable and
unfortunately, have been returned.

I live in the Moravian Falls community of Wilkes County with
my wife Alicia and our 2 boys Samuel who is 3 and Nathaniel
who is 4 months.

I attend Fishing Creek Baptist Church where I'm the Outreach
Director and Sunday School teacher for the Adult Fellowship Class.
Some of my favorite things to do are to read and study the Bible,
and spending time with my loving wife and 2 boys.

On Our Billboard
Yes, that is correct. We have a snowman on our billboards and
are especially proud of a very talented William Ellis Middle School
6th grader, Sydney Harris. In November Sydney submitted her art
for our Christmas card contest. When the judges finished choosing
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for the Christmas card, our marketing team looked through the submissions. Sydney’s art caught
their eye as it has a very special creative flair to it. Sydney used
the Yadtel icon as a snowball. This told us that she has a creative
eye and since we were planning our first quarter billboards it fit
right in on the theme. So as you are driving around our viewing
area be sure to look at or new billboards with Sydney’s artwork.
Community Winners
Yadtel hosted a Customer Appreciation Lunch on November 9th,
2012. At the luncheon we held a drawing for attendees to
register to win either a watercolor painting titled “Autumn Care”
by artist June Rollins who lives in Murphy, NC or a weekend trip
to stay at the beautiful Pecan Tree Inn on the coast in Beaufort,
NC.
