TE N' TE
Te N' Te was a 1973 bay stallion by Azure Te and
out of Vila by Leon Bars. He was bred by
Sol West, III of Vanderbilt, TX.
Jerry Wells bought Te from J. T. Walters of Muldrow,
OK, on November 15, 1976. Wells sold V* interest
to Joe Nocentino in 1976.
In Te's show career, he earned 22 Open Halter
points. He had 7 wins and 5 Grands in 7 shows,,
He won Open at the Houston Livestock Show and
Circuit Champion at the Arizona Sun Country Circuit
Because of a hock problem, he was shown very
little, but he excelled as a sire, with sons and
daughters on the race track and in the show ring in
both halter and performance.
Out of 5 foal crops, his get earned a total of 3,593
Open Halter points, 44.5 Amateur points and 286
Youth points plus 1,265 Open performance points,
93 Amateur and 812 Youth. His offspring also won
points in the National Cutting Horse Association,
Palomino Horse Breeders and the Buckskin and
Appaloosa associations.
Out of those 5 foal crops registered, Te N' Te had
551 registered foals, and of these, 312 were halter
horses and 239 were performance horses. Of the 5
foal crops, 4 crops were raced. His racing crop
had 23 starters with 108 starts and 8 wins out of
6 horses for a total money earned of $6,017.
Te N' Te sired 5 racing Register of Merit horses: Te
N Toe, Babee Te, Te Chick Te, Te N Teen, and
Starlets Te.
His performance get includes Skips Pine Te, the
1984 AQHA High Point calf roping horse. There
were 5 other AQHA Champions, and five AQHA
World Show finalists in Hunt Seat Equitation, Jr
Western Pleasure, Jr Heading and Hunter Under
Saddle; 6 Superior Western Pleasure horses,
32 Performance Register of Merits and one Amateur
ROM.
In halter, his get included Dreamin Te, the AQHYA
World Champion Yearling Mare; Brinks Misty Te,
the 1981 AQHYA World Champion Two Year Old
Mare, and 1982 World Champion Three Year Old
Mare; Poco Coeds Te N Te, the 1982 AJQHA
World Champion Aged Mare; Sierra Te, the 1984
World Champion Aged Stallion; and 44 AQHA
World Championship Show finalists.
There were 32 offspring with Performance ROMs,
one Amateur Performance ROM, 6 Superior
Western Pleasure horses, one Superior Hunter
Under Saddle, and 26 Superior Halter horses.
His 6 AQHA Champion offspring were: Made of Te,
Mr San Te, Skips PineTe, Te N Kim, Two Eyed Te,
and Too Tall Te.
Te N' Te died in
Accepting the award was Betty Wells, widow of the
legendary Purcell horseman, Jerry Wells.
