Howard A. Rhinehalt (1898 – 1974, Class of 1917) was a World War I veteran, Treasurer for the City
of Maumee, business office clerk for the Maumee City Schools Board of Education and active in many
community organizations.
Lowell E. Gallaway (Class of 1947) is a veteran of the US Navy and holds a Ph.D. in Economics
from Northwestern. He retired from Ohio University in Athens as a tenured professor of Economics.
Ann Fessler (Class of 1967) is an award-winning author and filmmaker who focuses on women’s
issues; especially adoption. She is a professor of photography at Rhode Island School of Design.
Jack Steiner (Class of 2001) is an astrophysicist with a Ph.D. in Astronomy from Harvard. He
recently began a post-doctoral fellowship program at MIT, sponsored by NASA, where he is
researching Galactic black holes.
James Scott Harding (Class of 1996) is the Offensive Line Coach for the University of Utah. He
holds varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball. He earned a Division I scholarship and played
football for the University of Toledo.
Lief D. Gilsdorf (Class of 2002) is a Captain in the US Army. He is a four-time state wrestling
qualifier, two-time state placer, and holds several MHS records: most tournament wins, most
consecutive wins, among others.
Reva (Kerkulah) Moore (Class of 2003) holds 3rd place in the MHS record book for most basketball
career points. She was named All-League, All-District and 2nd Team All-Ohio. She also holds two
varsity letters in track & field.
Coach John Boles was Maumee High School head football coach for 15 years with the most career
wins in MHS history, including two league championships and six playoff appearances. Coach Boles
is being inducted into the Hall of Excellence & Contribution.

Tender beef tips, mushrooms and onions simmered in a rich brown sauce with red wine. Served with
crusty garlic toast, green beans almandine and baby potatoes with smoked paprika and sea salt.
