on-water canoe, kayak and SUP demo and sale in the country. Our location in
Old Forge offers a large beach for test paddling, close accommodations and
restaurants, and ample parking. Adirondack Paddlefest has the largest selection
of canoes, kayaks, and SUPs on sale anywhere in the northeast. It also features
continuous on-water paddling, clinics, demos, lectures, classes, food and fun
for the whole family. Leading manufacturers will be on hand. Factory reps and
industry experts will help get you on the water with right canoe, kayak, SUP, and

What’s new and what’s moved!
Big changes at Adirondack Paddlefest!
The “show” is moving!
This year we’re making a big move! Test paddling and
demonstrations will take place on the beach at Old Forge
Pond, like it has in the past. But everything else is moving just down State Road 28 to our Mountainman store
locations, including all Canoe, Kayak, SUP, and Accessory
booths. And all sales will take place at the store, as well.

The second annual Adirondack Paddlefest Tournament
is expanded to both Saturday and Sunday this year. It will
continue to be located at Old Forge Pond. Registration is

How to Get the Most Out Of Paddlefest
This will be our 17th year of presenting Paddlefest, and we’d like to offer you a few tips to make the
best of your time during the show.

Plan ahead and stay in touch! Read through this guide, check out the website,
even better yet, checkout the Paddlefest Event pages at our Facebook page,
Facebook.com/MountainmanOutdoors!
Attend at least two days There’s a lot to see and do! And if you’re going to test
paddle, there’s a lot of boats to try out. Try to come for at least two days to give
yourself time to try out as many as you like. You won’t feel rushed at the end of
the day when it’s time to make a purchase decision.
Be prepared! The Boy Scouts were right, it’s best to be ready. Update New York
is known for its fickle weather, so bring some rain gear. Are you going to test
paddle? Bring the right clothing for paddling and some dry clothes to change into
once you’re finished.
Planning on buying a boat? Great! But don’t forget the accessories (paddles, life
jackets, etc.) and roof racks for your vehicle. If you know you’re going to be buying a boat and will need a rack system, make sure you plan some time to talk to
the rack vendors. There’s lots of options to consider. And you’ll need to plan time
for us to install the rack for you. And all accessories are 15% off all weekend!

Adirondack Paddlefest On-water Classes
Adult Kayak Class: Novice and Advanced
We’ll be splitting this class into two groups. The Novice Paddler Class: Are you a “never ever” or have just a few outings
under your keel? This session is designed to give the new
kayaker exposure to some basic skills and concepts that will
help build a strong foundation.
Advanced Paddling Technique Class: This session is designed to help competent kayak paddlers jump start their
season through learning and practicing some great training
drills and techniques. We will focus on the integration of
Body-Boat and Blade for more effective boat control, effortless maneuvers and efficient travel.
Kids Kayak Class
In these introductory clinics children will be introduced to
the safety and paddling basics – life jackets, getting in and
out of a kayak, going forward, backward and easy turns.
Then it’s on to the games where learning becomes fun
as they will have races, tug of war and obstacle courses.
Each session is limited to 6 children and there will be at
least two instructors per session to ensure both safety
and a high level of attention. We do ask that if your child
is participating in one of these sessions that you have a
dry change of clothes readily available as kids tend to find
ways to get wet when they are having fun.

Wilderness Systems has taken its wildly popular Pungo
120 and made it even better! New for 2015, the Pungo 120
Ultralite is constructed with thermoform plastic instead
of rotomolded plastic, reducing its weight to just 40lbs. In
addition to ease of transport, you can expect livelier speed
and maneuverability. We expect this to be very popular with
paddlers!
The Sojourn
series is an
exciting new
day-touring line from Hurricane that will surprise and satisfy
paddlers of all levels. With moderate rocker, a hard-chined

hatches, and removable thigh straps for
when you want a leisurely paddle vs. a
performance one. It comes with a mesh
storage bag and lots of clip-in points to
manage your gear the way you want to.
Current Designs
Equinox
CD reduced the length
of their Solstice series by
about a foot and a half
(to 16 feet) and added
in just a bit of rocker in
order to make a more
maneuverable craft
while still maintaining the
predictable, stable handling characteristics of
their longer models. The
Equinox comes in GT (24˝
wide) and GTS (22˝ wide) models, and
are great all-arounders, well-suited for
streams, longer day trips, or even relaxing weekend overnighters.

high-back PFD in the
market and made it
even better. Astral
reduced the height of
the backpanel, filling it
with more breathable
mesh. They added
hook and loop fasteners to the shoulder pads to take up excess webbing
