Minimizing the risk of chemical leaching from consumables Not all contamination is biological The reliability and consistency of your research results are our priority when developing new consumables. Chemicals used in the manufacturing of disposable plastic labware, such as slip agents, plasticizers or biocides, can leach out of the plastic into your samples. Recent scientific reports have shown that these chemicals can be carried over to all of your downstream applications leading to erroneous results.1–5 UV absorbing substances from plastic vials can leach into the sample, especially after heating in e.g. PCR, centrifugation, ultrasound, lysis and homogenization3. These substance interfere with photometric detection reactions, thus providing a source of error in downstream applications.
