What a Great Year!
Thank you to everyone in West
Alabama who contributed to this
year’s United Way campaign! You
helped raise a record amount of
$3,500,576! It is humbling to see
a community unite together and
offer generous donations and volunteer valuable time for the good
of our neighbors and surpass the
lofty goal that was set for the year.
As I have said many times, we do
not increase our goal each year
just for the sake of increasing
it. The needs in our community
continue to grow. We hear from
our partner agencies about the
influx of people needing their
services, and that they need to
expand programs and classes
to effectively meet their clients
needs.
We also have several partner
agencies embarking on or wrapping up capital campaigns for
which we are happy your donations have helped to support. For
instance, Salvation Army’s new
shelter has broken ground and
our YMCA is about to begin a big
expansion.
It is you that helps make all of
these things possible.
How do you live uniTed?
HAVE A PROJECT? We are currently accepting project requests from
United Way partner agencies, area nonprofits, schools and daycares. The
organization requesting the project must provide the equipment and tools
to complete your project. To apply, contact Julie Mann at [email protected].
