Obed Arango Hisijara
Obed Arango Hisijara is a recognized Mexican photographer and visual artist with more than 20 years of experience; his work has
been exhibited nationally and internationally in Mexico and in the United States, with expertise in Latin American
and Hispanic Cultures in USA.
Arango has exhibited and presented his work in several galleries, art festivals and prominent universities, including the
Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico (UNAM), The Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia, Swarthmore College,
Temple University, Eastern University, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Montgomery County Community College, the Hussian School
of Art of Philadelphia and Centro de la Imagen - México among other institutions.

Obed’s latest exhibition and presentation was Visions of Latin America that was presented in the Barnes Foundation in
the City of Philadelphia and display in the Emmaus Road Café in the City of Lancaster, Pennsylvania during the
months of October and November as part of the Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration. Moreover the exhibition Luz, palabra y vida,
in partnership with poet and Spanish writer María Luisa Ortega Hernández, was presented in the Hussian School of Art of Philadelphia
and the Mexican Cultural Center for the NALAC - National Latino Art Conference, Philadelphia in the month of October of 2012.
Obed is the executive director of CCATE and is faculty professor of photography and graphic design at the Fine Arts Center
