The
National
Kidney
Foundation of West Tennessee seeks to prevent kidney and urinary
tract diseases, to improve the health and well-being of individuals and
families affected by these diseases and to increase the availability of all organs for transplantation. Mable Barringer, the organization’s
executive director, says that proceeds go to fund financial emergency assistance programs for patients, as well as public education, medical research, a pediatric patient dialysis camp, the Transplant Games and
KEEP, the Kidney Early Evaluation Program that provides a free health
screening program for individuals at increased risk of developing kidney disease. The foundation serves the 21 counties in West Tennessee and
Crittenden County in Arkansas.
