January 3 and 4, 2015
We are happy to have found great support
from within the community, but the more
volunteers we have, the better our event
will be! Funds raised will benefit our soccer
program; specifically they will go toward
awards, equipment, rentals and hiring a Soccer
Coordinator. Shifts are also eligible toward soccer
volunteer hours.

Construction in Creekwood westlands
commenced in August. We are very excited
to open up all the westlands. A road has been
constructed from Chappelle Road west across
the utility corridor. Construction will continue in
2015, opening up many acres of new lots over the
next few years.

Construction Updates
Construction of 41 Avenue SW west of the QEII
will be completed over next few years with
portions being upgraded in 2015.
We finished construction of a new phase
in Creekwood this fall. It includes 30 new
front-attached garage home lots and 29 new
townhome lots. Showhomes will commence
immediately and are expected to open in
summer 2015.
Ellerslie Road was closed for most of 2014 and,

Q&A With Bryan Baeumler
Q: You’re so busy – how do you manage your time?
A: I don’t think there are any rules. Everyone has to find their own balance.
There’s no roadmap for managing your time, life, family or business—you
have to do what works for you and the people around you.
In my family we have chaos, and that works for us. It’s kind of like building
a house. Rather than using a straight roadmap, it’s more of a shipping
channel. As long as you keep pointed somewhat in the right direction, you’ll

get there one way or another. There are too many rules and regulations in
life, sometimes you need some latitude to find your way there.
The Community of Creekwood is proud to be part of a new promotion that will help new homeowners
decorate their homes with designer looks that cost less.
Q: What’s a career highlight that stands out for you?
A: Sometimes I still have a hard time believing people are watching the show!
It’s hard to watch yourself, hear yourself. I remember being at the Gemini

Information Series”… that still shocks me. Also, when House of Bryan got
the highest ratings on HGTV… that was a pretty good pat on the back.
Q: Any funny “celebrity” moments?
A: Because I don’t play a character on a show, a lot of people feel like they
know me. They tend to talk to me like a long-lost friend. They come up and
say “Hey, here’s what we’re doing at home.” It’s quite funny; sometimes I’m
thinking “Uh oh, should I know them? Should I remember their name?
Or do they just know the show really well?” They get to spend a lot of
time with me.

Vinyl Wall Dots
Corkboard
Rosalyn saved a bundle on wallpaper by instead
getting a local sign maker to print vinyl polka dots
which she stuck on the walls herself. This is a hip,
easy solution– just be sure you have a stepstool
handy so you don’t just decorate the bottom half
of the walls.
1
This easy, creative solution was crafted by covering
cork hotplates (“trivets”) from Ikea with pretty fabric. It
only takes a few minutes and looks completely original
on the wall. Plus, it’s functional. The boards can be
used to hang all different types of items, like jewelry,
notes, or photos.

A great way to dress up a “big box” dresser is by lining
your drawers with shiny, patterned or coloured paper. You
can use wallpaper or scrapbooking paper depending on
what kind of texture you prefer. There are endless colour
and pattern options available. This is funky fix that will
make a plain piece much more exciting.

Headboard
Using plywood shelves, a foam mattress pad, batting
and an inexpensive linen-type textile, a beautiful,
contemporary headboard was born! The project
cost only $80 and took only a few hours of work.

Custom window treatments can eat a large chunk of the budget.
Taking ready-made panels from Target, Rosalyn dressed them up
with a beautiful ribbon detail affixed along the seams. This gives
them a custom look at a fraction of the cost.

Much like the DIY headboard, this is an upholstery
project. Rosalyn covered an inexpensive IKEA stool
with padding and a beautiful pattern (a remnant
left over from a previous project). This turned the
stool into a luxury seating spot.

Wanting a small table for the
space, Rosalyn used a laptop desk
from IKEA. The original gun metal
didn’t have enough “wow” for the
room, but a little gold spray paint
did the trick!
If you’re looking to give
your living room or bedroom a quick boost, a
new textile could do the trick. Against the plain
solid colours of a sofa or duvet, throw cushions,
throw blankets and rugs are a fast and fun way
to dress up a drab room. (Plus they’re fairly
inexpensive so you can change for the seasons if
you wish!)

Artisan’s most recent showhome is now open

Creekwood
A trusted Edmonton home builder is bringing its most
popular duplex to Creekwood.
Part of a brand new phase opening up in the
neighbourhood, the “Texan 3” duplex is likely to attract
all different kinds of buyers, says Assistant Sales and
Marketing Manager Pam Hoffman.
“It’s our most popular duplex model,” she says. “It’s a nice
size. It’s a size you don’t normally see for a duplex.”
Its functionality is really what sets the house apart, she
says. At 1,478 square feet, the three-bedroom, two and
a half bath home makes an attractive option for young
families, first time homebuyers or downsizing couples.
The bedrooms are quite sizeable, and buyers have the
option to swap the second and third bedrooms for a
double master bedroom. Plus there are the usual perks
of buying a ReidBuilt home: high-quality finishings like
