On April 10, 2010, a grand total of 392 string musicians– from age 5 to age 65— gathered at the Juanita HS Field House to attempt to set a Guinness World Record™ for, “The greatest number of people playing the same tune on string instruments at the same time at a single venue”. It was a great success! Our Independent Witnesses verified the world record for Pachelbel’s Canon in D… and our official certificates from Guinness World Records™ are now proudly installed at RHS and the LWSD Resource Cen- ter. We even have a traveling certificate to thrill our elementary orchestra members. String Jam ‘10 was also a very successful fundraiser for the LWSD Orchestra programs, helping us raise nearly $7,500 to purchase instruments and support orchestra programs. Congratulations to all the musicians who participated and thanks to our many dedicated volunteers who worked long hours behind the scenes. We did it! See more photos and link to videos and news reports at the RROB website: www.redmondorchestras.org. Page 2 Con Brio! December 2010 We’re Going to Disneyland!
