OLEX new office start-up operations in China
OLEX S.A. Representative Office is already active in
Shanghai, under OLEX Brasil leadership.
In the first month of its operations in the country, the team
has already received over 20 quotation requests regarding
materials. It has also given support to the infrastructure
areas Brazil, Latin America and Angola, Odebrecht Oil
and Gas and concluded the conditions which will be the
contractual conditions for the inspection with Bureau Veritas
and SGS (a French company of inspection and certification)
certifications. In addition, the team visited some plants and
facilities of potential suppliers.
The office was opened aiming at developing Sourcing

(the best negotiation process with suppliers) in the
Asian market and at providing alternatives of goods and
logistics supplies in an efficient and effective manner.

competitive prices”, says Mauro Rehm, the CEO in charge
of OLEX Brazil.
The office structure currently formed by an expatriate and
a Chinese professional will expand as per the demand. “We

Crane Operators submit to certification
Since May, the crane operators of some CNO projects have
had the opportunity to be given capabilities by the Crane
Operator Certification and Upgrading Program.
The program, developed by Elson Rangel and Carlos Gabos,
from the People and Organization area of AFEq (Equipment
Functional Support), is intended for experienced participants
and it is made up of four phases: admission, performance,

theory and practical assessments and, after the course, they
are given a permit to operate the equipment.
“The program offers the participants improvement in the
perception of risks, which are inherent to the cargo handling
operations with cranes”, says Carlos Gabos.
29 operators from Consórcio Via Amarela (São Paulo), Gasduc
III Gas Pipeline (Rio de Janeiro), Simplício Hydroelectric Plant
(Minas Gerais), and Macaé Base of Campos Basin South Asset
