15th Euroconference on Apoptosis
The 15th Euroconference on Apoptosis, organized by
the European Cell Death Organization, will take
place in Portorož, Slovenia, from October 26
(arrival) till October 31 (departure), 2007.
The Conference and Training Course will take place
in the St. Bernardin Resort & Convention
Centre, located on the Slovenian Adriatic Coast
between the towns of Portorož and Piran. The resort
combines a multifunctional convention centre with
three hotels of different categories.
Every year, we welcome about 300 people, from all
over the world. The focus of the conference, the
special attention for the poster presentations and
short oral communications, the common lunches and
social programs create an atmosphere of stimulating
discussions and contacts. Therefore, the ECDO
conferences are considered as one of the best
meetings in the field of cell death research.

27, 2007).
The aim of the training course is to introduce young
scientists and newcomers in the field, into the current
concepts, methodologies and tools used in the study
of programmed cell death.
The course consists of 6 lectures (60 minutes per
lecture, including discussion time).

Lazslo Fesus (Debrecen, Hungary)
Apoptosis and chronic inflammation disease
Roberta Gottlieb (La Jolla, USA)
Cell death and ischemia
Douglas Green (Memphis, USA)

Scholarships
Thanks to the European Commission Marie Curie
Actions Programme, scholarships are available for the
15th Euroconference on Apoptosis and/or the 4th
Training course on Concepts and Methods of
Programmed Cell Death. Eligibility guidelines can be
found on the conference website. The ECDO Scientific
Committee will grant the scholarships on the basis of
submitted abstracts and scholarship documents.
