The Scholar Athlete Academy by Ben Summers (TSAA) is an exclusive sports training academy focused on developing quarterbacks and
pitchers, beginning as early as 7th grade, to provide them the best collegiate and professional playing opportunities. In addition to sports
training, TSAA offers recruiting and guidance services to further its athletes’ academic endeavors and contingency career goals. For high
school athletes, TSAA creates collegiate opportunities that provide the best fit… both athletically and academically. For its college and pro

BENJAMIN D. SUMMERS
Ben’s athletic career began as a quarterback and pitcher at Class 5-A
Louisiana High School East Ascension where he earned Academic AllAmerican honors. He continued his athletic career in college at LouisanaMonroe as a pitcher where he was also extended the opportunity to continue
his football career as a quarterback for the Division 1-A Warhawks. After
his sophomore season, Ben transferred to LSU before moving on to the
professional ranks as a pitcher for the San Diego Padres organization. Ben
began training young athletes in 1995.
In 2010, Ben founded The Scholar Athlete Academy with a primary goal
of ensuring each of its students achieves a successful professional career,
regardless of whether that profession includes sports.

Tony has trained more than 70 World Champions and 1st round NFL and MLB draft picks including such athletes as Jamal Lewis (RB),
Hines Ward (WR), Dorsey Levens (RB), Eric Berry (DB), Jahvid Best (RB), Takeo Spikes (LB), Osi Umenyoria (DE), Wayne Gandy (OL),
Jermaine Lewis (WR), Dexter Fowler (OF), Nick Markakis (OF), Craig Counsell (IF), and tennis superstar Ivan Lendl. In 2008, Tony
trained three top 15 NFL picks including Jerod Mayo (10th overall pick) that were all projected to get drafted in the 2nd to 3rd rounds
before their NFL Combine performances. In 2010, Tony trained five 1st round NFL picks including the highest paid and drafted Safety
(Eric Berry) and Inside Linebacker (Rolando McClain) of the decade. He has continuously put out the best performances in speed and
explosion including the FASTEST PLAYER EVER (Jacoby Ford) and most EXPLOSIVE ATHLETE EVER (Gerald Sensabaugh).

TSAA’s career services team determines which institutions provide the best opportunity for
Scholar Athletes to achieve athletic success while planning for and creating contingency
career opportunities. TSAA evaluates both the athletic and academic programs of the
prospective colleges and universities that students express an interest in attending.

ACADEMIC TRAINING & SPORTS PSYCHOLOGY
The Academic Training Program is tailored to each student-athlete based upon his
academic abilities. Tutoring and study skills, standardized test preparation and the
latest research methods in cognitive development are utilized to improve our athletes’
academic performance. To supplement the development of physical skills, the latest in
sports psychology methods are utilized to maximize consistency of performance.
