Unique textured panelling
Unique textured panelling
Mobilia manufactures custom made furniture
and supplies a unique selection of threedimensional wall and ceiling coverings including
decorative veneered panels. These are extensively used to add texture & depth by providing
a dramatic contrast of light and shadow to
architectural spaces.
Our patterns offer architects and designers
the opportunity to create a strong signature
to their interior schemes. Perfect for a vast
range of applications, our panels are used in
residential, retail, leisure and office interiors
with some products also being suitable for
furniture use.
Sculpted Patterns
The Sculpted range of panels provides the greatest flexibility
in choice of patterns and finishes. The patterns are sold on
a square meter basis with the panels supplied to size to
suit the overall area specified. The patterns are designed
to run continuously across multiple panels either vertically,
horizontally or diagonally.
Image shows Honeycomb 01
Patterns are usually cut into MDF with a choice of any RAL,
Pantone or NCS coloured lacquer applied to the surface in
a matt, satin or pearlescent sheen or alternatively in one
of a set range of ‘suede’ effect coloured lacquers. Some
patterns are available in wood effect and solid colour vinyl
wrapped finishes.
At the highest level of specification, patterns can be specified in multilayers of veneer. Depending on the depth of
the pattern, as many as 16 layers of veneer are adhered
to the surface of the substrate to build a thickness for
the pattern to be cut into. Veneer multi-layers offer the
opportunity of introducing further levels of customization
by specifying a number of different veneer species in the
build up of the multilayer. The varying depth of the cut pattern will reveal the different veneer species as strata of
contrasting veneers.

Ideally suited for locations where a more robust finish is
required, these patterns can also be used in environments
where there is a degree of moisture as the surface is water
resistant. Patterns are supplied as standard sized panels
or can be provided to size with the pattern matched across
multiple panels.

The Mode range consists of pre-produced panels,
available at 2440 x 1220 x 15mm. These patterns
are of a larger scale than our custom range patterns meaning they are quicker to produce and
are therefore a more cost effective solution with
the added benefit that most patterns are available
from stock in a white primer. We recommend
that these panels are installed with a flash gap or
trim detail between panels. Due to the production
methods used we cannot guarantee an absolute
pattern match if panels are abutted.

Woven and Cane
The Woven range of patterns are hand made by
weaving various widths of quarter cut veneers
together, glued to a substrate & finished in a
clear matt or satin lacquer. Patterns can be
made from your choice of a single veneer species
or two contrasting veneers.
The Cane products consist of natural bamboo
or rattan canes woven together all of which, with
the exception of Cane 3B & 3C, are supplied on a
fabric backing ready to be bonded to a substrate.
All Cane products are supplied unfinished.

Lakar
Inspired by the vivid colours of Indian fabric designs, Lakar & Lakar
Slim use traditional marquetry techniques to combine natural and
dyed veneers and turn them into innovative contemporary wall
panels. Available in 2 scales of strip widths, these patterns are
standard sized panels 2500 x 1220mm on a 16mm MDF core
or can be supplied as a 2150 x 950mm Placorex – layers of veneer bonded together to a thickness of 1.5mm which is suitable
for pressing by a joiner onto your own substrate and is ideal for
manufacturing doors. Both these options are available on short
delivery. Alternatively we can supply custom sized panels with a
longer lead time.

Motif
The Motif range consists of either
coloured lacquer or veneered
MDF panels with a motif cut into
the MDF. The motifs work on a
repeat so that when several panels
are abutted side to side or end
to end the pattern will continue
across to make a larger motif.
Of course, the panels can also be
used individually as an ‘artwork’.
Each pattern is available in any
RAL, Pantone or NCS coloured
lacquer as well as cut into Anigre,
Makore, Oak, Sycamore, Walnut
or Wenge veneered boards with
a white melamine backing. The
panels are 2500 x 1200 x 20mm,
other veneer options and custom
sized panels are also available
upon request.

Cast Patterns
Offering an effective alternative to wood, these panels
are fabricated from 40-45% crushed almond shells
which are a bi product from the local nut industry, mixed
with resins. In this way vegetable waste is not only turned
into bio-degradable & recyclable objects but can also be
considered environmentally friendly as it can function as
a wood substitute thereby avoiding the felling of trees.

Dome
The nature of the casting process allows the panel surface
to mimic even the smallest crenulations which results in
convincing simulations for example of wood and leather.
The finished product is water resistant, resistant to insects
and has good thermal & acoustic characteristics.
The lightweight properties of the panels, combined with
the large panel sizes make them quick & easy to install. If
necessary, panels can be cut & machined using standard
woodworking tools.
Finish options are gloss or matt lacquer in any RAL,
Pantone or NCS colour, metallic, wood & leather effects.

Custom Designs
If our extensive selection of patterns isn’t enough for you,
the casting techniques used allow bespoke patterns to be
made without major cost increases. Shown here are a few
examples of our custom installations.

Lattice
This is a custom made
latticework used to clad
the exterior of a hotel in
Seville comprising cast
units which when assembled create a number of
different patterns. The
latticework also runs
across windows creating a degree of privacy
and shading.
Paper Wall
Destined for cladding the exterior of a building in Sweden, the panels
simulate stacked reams of paper and demonstrate how far the
material is capable of mimicking other materials.
Restaurant Wall
A combination of flat panels and 2 styles of relief
panels bearing knives, forks & plates in one and
bottles, glasses & cocktail shakers in the other.
This demonstrates how panels can be customised for branding purposes to reflect a franchise
or chain identity. We are also able to incorporate
logos and signage.

Furniture
Mobilia manufactures custom made
items of furniture for individuals and
corporations. Alongside traditional
manufacturing skills we also exploit
the latest CAD/CAM software to
aid manufacture.
The images shown, illustrate a variety of items manufactured for JAC
Design Group. The project included
both free standing and built in items
of furniture. Panelling and sliding
coats cupboard doors in the Ante
room incorporated our River pattern in American Black Walnut veneer whilst panels of Stream 07 in
a suede effect lacquer were used
in niches. The 6½ M Boardroom
table in quarter cut American Black
Walnut incorporates microphones
and pop up power modules as well
as other AV equipment to be used
in conjunction with the AV wall unit.
Other items produced included credenzas, built in cupboards in meeting
rooms and reception signage.
