OPEN SN W CHASING POW WITH JOEL GRATZ Joel really (really) likes three things: Weather, snow, and skiing. Joel started Colorado Powder Forecast in 2007, and found that the few years of grad school spent studying mountain weather patterns started to pay off in accuracy (and more importantly, missing fewer powder days). By 2011, Joel became known as the go-to source for snow forecasts and after a fortuitous meeting with another skiing meteorologist, Andrew Murray, Opensnow.com was born. OpenSnow is now the preeminent source for those chasing powder. Joel came skiing at CMH Galena last Christmas and had the time of his life. Now, eager to return Joel will be heading to the CMH Monashee Lodge to ring in the New Year. The Monashees are world renowned for its deep snow conditions and perfect fall-line tree runs. The mature and naturally well-spaced forests lining the Monashee range are responsible for its reputation among skiers as a tree skiers’ paradise. Along with some of the best tree skiing on earth, the Monashees is also admired for its long consistently steep-pitched runs. The Monashees offers perhaps the most challenging skiing of any of our areas, and is suitable only for strong, experienced skiers. Join Joel Gratz at the CMH Monashee Lodge for 5-days of heliskiing or boarding from December 28, 2013 to January 2, 2014. Joel will heli-ski as a guest throughout the trip and will act as host during the après times at the lodge. CMH is responsible for all guiding services. Groups will consist of 4 groups of 11 skiers utilizing a Bell 212 helicopter. All skiers and riders will be divided into groups based on speed, fitness and ability levels.
