Arts Round The Shire 2016 - Bass Coast Shire Council
arts Arts Round The Shire 2016 1 2 Bass Coast Shire Council acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders as the first Australians and recognises that they have a unique relationship with the land and water. Council also recognises that we are situated on the traditional lands of the Boon Wurrung /Bunurong, of the Kulin Nation who have lived here for thousands of years. We offer our respect to their elders past and present and, through them, all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Bass Coast is home to a thriving arts community. The beauty of its natural environment, and the close proximity to Melbourne attracts the creative spirit. INDEX It is also one of Victoria’s most popular tourist destinations due to the beautiful coastline, scenic hinterland and laid back lifestyle. 2 Galleries and Studios 3 – 9 Crafts10 Heritage 11 – 12 Photography and Film 13 Map 14 – 19 Writers 20 Music, Theatre and Dance 21 –22 Art Exhibitions and Festivals 23–25 Community Cultural Centres 26–28 Community Managed Facilities28 Arts Registration and News28 Public Art 29 –30 Bass Coast Your Art Collection Prize 31 Cover from the top: Tree Change to Sea Change, Creative Gippsland May Celebration, Wonthaggi Art Space.
