Why Feed Your Fish Frozen Fish Food?
The Superiority of Frozen Food
Frozen fish food is a good alternative to flake food or
pellets for many reasons. Here are a few of them:
• Frozen fish foods are more nutritious than flake or pellet due to less
processing and absence of fillers.
• Our product uses algin, an essential carbohydrate, as a binder,
which does not require heating to be activated, ensuring all essential
nutrients are available to the fish.
• Frozen foods allow fish to feed at
their natural feeding levels. Fish that eat well
are in better health and thus are more resistant to
disease and stress in the aquarium environment.
• Our fresh ingredients retain a natural appearance and scent.
• Our cube packaging insures freshness and prevents freezerburn. The
smaller portion gives less chance for over feeding.
• Better water quality in the aquarium due to a smaller
amount of digested fecal matter being excreted by the fish.

Perhaps the most important aspect of
preparing frozen fish foods is the freezing
technique itself. Our freezing process
uses liquid carbon dioxide at –85°F
(-65° C). Freezing at such
Frenzy! low temperatures improves
product quality by the
formation of a larger amount of smaller
sized ice crystals. Smaller ice crystals
do not puncture the cell membranes
as larger crystals do, so leeching of
nutrients upon thawing is minimized.

SHRIMP ARE WHAT THEY EAT!
Color says a lot about brine shrimp. While
red brine shrimp grown in high salinity
ponds are popular, they are not as nutritious
as the less colorful green and brown
shrimp. San Francisco Bay Brand® shrimp
inhabit intermediate and lower salinity
ponds. They are brown or green because
they feed heavily on microalgae, making
them rich in protein, lipids and essential
fatty acids.

The brine shrimp native to San
Francisco Bay (Artemia franciscana)
has one of the highest nutritional
profiles of all sources of brine
shrimp. Our manufacturing plant
is certified by the USDA, the FDA
and the HACCP. While these ponds
are certified by the U.S. Food and
Drug Administration, we don’t
recommend these shrimp as an
appetizer for yourself!
