County of Simcoe, and Bill Grodzinski,

Transit. While on display at the South
Simcoe Police Headquarters, the bus
was also visited by members of the
Regional Council and countless officers
from the surrounding regions.

Holocaust survivor Max Eisen spoke to an attentive audience of police officers, community members and local
dignitaries. The audience was clearly delighted to hear first-hand testimony from a Holocaust survivor; Police
Constable Rob Enwright noted Mr. Eisen’s presentation “was truly a wonderful honor.”

Humanity hosted workshops at University of Ottawa’s

Summer 2014: A retrospective
At FSWC, this past July signified not
only the start of summer vacation,
but also our first opportunity to visit
summer camps across Ontario! Tour
for Humanity visited multiple
residential camps over the summer,
including Camp Ramah in Muskoka in
July and Me to We Camp in Kawartha

school programs, with campers attending programs all day. At Camp Ramah, Counselor Keren
Romm commented on the effectiveness of the presentation, stating “it was
comprehensive. Not too graphic but still very powerful.” At Me to We camp, Counselor Kate Ashwood was pleased to see her campers “were very
engaged on the heavy issues of genocide and the Holocaust,” while counselor Joanna Lim added, “the space is conducive to learning and
participation.”
Freedom Day 2014
For the second year in a row, Tour for Humanity provided a visible reminder of the
scope of FSWC’s efforts to promote tolerance and social justice at Freedom Day; more
than 3,500 students participated in FSWC’s Freedom Day event at Toronto’s
Yonge-Dundas Square in September. Emceed by Entertainment Tonight Canada’s Rick
Campanelli, the program featured Double Gold Medal-Winning Olympic Hockey Player
Meaghan Mikkelson, Aboriginal Activist Wab Kinew, Holocaust survivor Max Eisen,
Sierra Leone civil war survivor Mariatu Kamara and Founder of Pink Shirt Day, Travis
Price.
