DAKHLA, located about 1000km south of Essaouira, is situated on a 48
km long and 4km wide headland creating a huge lagoon which stretches
into the Atlantic Ocean. On the north east of this coastline we found a
perfect location for our new center. The center can be reached within 20
minutes drive from the airport at Dakhla which is situated in the south
of the peninsula. Flights to Dakhla are from all European airports via
Casablanca. This spot is still an insider tip but the development of Dakhla
into another kitesurfers and windsurfers Mecca is coming! Thanks to
unbelievable conditions this spot will definitely become one of the top
spots in Morocco. Constant winds and pleasant temperatures all year
long make the spot as famous in winter as it is in summer. Inside the
lagoon flat water and unlimited space create ideal conditions for beginners and intermediates as well as for flat water and freestyle freaks.
Those who would like to make an excursion to the waves will also be
happy here since on the Atlantic side there are perfect wave spots which
can be reached within a short distance by car. Our center is part of a
concept which includes bungalows and restaurants. Through the layout
and the facilities of this complex we aim to create a unique atmosphere
which gives you the possibility to feel at home, relax and experience a
holiday with lots of action on the water which you will not forget in a hurry.
ESSAOUIRA the perfect all round spot of Morocco is Essaouira. Four
different sports are offered - windsurfing, kitesurfing, surfing and SUP and
guarantee a diverse and exciting holiday program. Apart from perfect conditions on the water Essaouira also has lots to offer on land. The beautiful
small harbour town invites you to wander around and go shopping, giving
you the chance to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of the orient.

THE SPOT IN ESSAOUIRA
A huge sandy beach and a shallow water area near the shore guarantee
an easy and comfortable launch. The spot provides ample space for
everybody, avoiding getting in each other’s way. During low tide the sea
pulls back about 150 meters, making the way to the waters edge a little
bit longer. The spot directly in front of the center is ideal for wave novices
and other wave spots like Moulay and Sidi Kaouki (20 minutes drive) offer
even more diversity. The center organises excursions to the wave spots
upon request. Even if the water temperature of 17-20°C is quite fresh,
Essaouira offers appealing conditions, more than enough space and an
80% wind guarantee.
WIND AND WAVES
The wind blows side shore from the right. Between June and August the
thermal enhances the trade wind, creating more challenging conditions
for kitesurfers. Downwind of the center, the wave conditions are particularly great in spring and autumn (1-2 meters). Due to the strong wind in
summer, the waves are slightly smaller from mid June to August (0.5 - 1
meter). Beginners and speed surfers find the perfect playground further
upwind of the bay.
THE CENTER
The Club Mistral & Skyriders center is situated quite far downwind in the
bay of Essaouira, around 20 minutes walk from the Medina (old town). Its
location offers one big advantage; there is no wind shadow in this area,
making the wind blow steadily without any gusts. The center offers a lot of
space as well as storage facilities for windsurfers and kitesurfers. Tuition
for kitesurfing, windsurfing and surfing takes place right in front of the center. The Ocean Vagabond Restaurant next door provides all surfers with
drinks and snacks. There are sun beds available on the terrace where you
can relax with a unique view over the whole bay.

This traditional Riad has been restored with great attention to detail. It is
situated in the heart of the medina in close proximity to shops and restaurants. It is a great place to stay when you like to stroll through the little
alleys of the medina. The rooms are spacious and decorated in Moroccan
style. In the evening you can enjoy the famous mint tea around the fire
place. Take the breakfast on the roof top terrace – it offers an amazing
panoramic view.
The villa is very nice and a typical Moroccan hotel outside the medina.
It is very popular amongst all surfers, thanks to the familial atmosphere
and the proximity to our Club Mistral & Skyriders Center. The rooms are
spacious and cozy with traditional furnishings. The lush garden surrounds
the swimming pool and is a great place to relax.
This guest house is a typical simple surfer accommodation with hostel
character. It is located in a quiet neighbourhood within 5 minutes walking
distance to the beach. It is a perfect place for single travellers and surfers
with a small budget. If you just need a bed and shower this is your place
to stay. Despite the low comfort it still offers free WiFi.
Hotel Atlas & Spa
When you prefer upscale comfort with modern amenities, Hotel Atlas
Essaouira & Spa is your best choice. The hotel offers a wide range of
facilities and services. It is located on the beach promenade, only steps
away from our Club Mistral & Skyriders Center. It features a heated outdoor pool, which makes it very popular amongst families with children.
But don’t expect a typical beach resort with holiday flair – Hotel Atlas still
is a business hotel.
This luxurious Riad with 24 comfortable and traditionally furnished rooms
is situated in a small alley, right at the entrance to the medina. Immerge
into the magical atmosphere of Arabian Nights and enjoy this very special
holiday feeling. From the roof top terrace you can observe the whole bay
and the action inside the medina.
The charming guest house Villa Flora is also situated on a quiet street not
too far from our Club Mistral & Skyriders Center. Here you stay in a very
familial atmosphere in cozy and traditional guest rooms. Each room has

and well-kept garden.
