Admiralty – with us, you’re supported
The world-renowned, world-leading
Admiralty navigation products and
services produced by the United
Kingdom
Hydrographic
Office
(UKHO) support global shipping and help to improve safety at sea –
protecting crew, cargo, ships and the environment.
Mariners and shipping companies have trusted and relied on our navigation
tools for over 200 years.
Our products are on board more than 70% of commercial ships sailing
internationally, making them the maritime industry’s first choice worldwide.
And today, Admiralty products and services continue to set the global
standard in navigation, following the launch on 1 July this year of the rolling
timetable for the mandatory carriage of ECDIS on most large ships.
Our products
Alongside an extensive portfolio of over 3,300 paper-based Standard Nautical
Charts, thematic charts, nautical and astronomical publications, handbooks
and tidal atlases, we also publish a wide range of digital products and
services to meet the needs of today’s digital navigator, including:

Admiralty Vector Chart Service:
The world’s leading ENC service, with wide coverage that enables ships to
sail on ECDIS for most major routes. Compatible with all type-approved
makes of ECDIS, it is the first choice for the majority of international
commercial ships currently navigating digitally. Users also benefit from the
Admiralty Information Overlay, the only service to include the worldwide
Temporary and Preliminary Notices to Mariners to enable full ECDIS
compliance.
Admiralty Raster Chart Service:
The ideal introduction to digital navigation, this service provides over 3,000
exact digital copies of the world-leading Admiralty paper charts – delivering
all the familiarity of paper along with fast digital access.
Admiralty e-Navigator:
The UKHO has also developed and brought to market a much-valued
platform to support the move to electronic navigation. e-Navigator is a
powerful, easy-to-use folio management application which also supports
efficient passage planning. It is also the easiest way to view the Admiralty
Information Overlay - the only service that includes the worldwide
Temporary and Preliminary Notices to Mariners to support ships in sailing
compliantly with ECDIS and ENCs.
Admiralty Digital Publications:
Designed to inform key decisions around commercial efficiency and ship
safety, our line-up of routeing guides and charts, tidal tables, sailing
directions and more enhances on-board knowledge of route features and sea
conditions.
See our website (www.admiralty.co.uk) for more information on Admiralty
and for further details on our products and services.
Navigator 2012
We are particularly pleased to be a sponsor of the Navigator Annual Maritime
Conference this year, as ships and shipping companies around the world get
to grips with the new requirements for ECDIS carriage. Please join us at our
special workshop, “How do you know you can trust your ECDIS?”, where we
will discuss the critical importance of ensuring that the data you use is
official, quality-assured and up-to-date.
And if you need ECDIS-related information in the meantime, visit our website
for full details of the guidance and training we provide – including the
opportunity we’re providing for bridge officers from across the world to win
a free place on a generic ECDIS course.

NAVIGATOR SHIPPING CONSULTANTS Ltd. together with
our Gold Sponsor
are pleased to invite you to
The Forum that will be held after NAVIGATOR Conference,
“How do you know you can trust your ECDIS?”
In this period of transition to digital navigation, it is vital that navigators can
have complete confidence in the accuracy, consistency and reliability of their
ECDIS and the data it contains. In this special workshop addressing the issues
that you must consider when choosing your ECDIS and ENC supplier,
Admiralty experts will provide insight into the questions to ask, covering
subjects such as the key role of official data, quality assurance, coverage,
updates, training, product range, customer support, guidance in making the
transition and more. It is your opportunity to set your mind at rest regarding
the future of navigation for your ship or your fleet.

The Hellenic Exchanges (HELEX) Group operates the Greek
cash and derivatives markets. The Group offers trading in
stocks and derivatives through its subsidiary Athens
Exchange (ATHEX), clearing through its subsidiary
ATHEXClear, settlement and registry services are provided
by the parent company, HELEX.
HELEX was listed on Athens Exchange in August 2000; it was fully privatized
in 2003. Today HELEX has almost 10,000 shareholders, and a market
capitalization of ~€130m.
As of mid-2012, the exchange had 278 listed companies, a market
capitalization of €20bn, an average daily turnover of €53m, and an average
daily volume of 43m shares. The exchange has attracted significant capital
flows from abroad – more than 50% of the total market capitalization is in the
hands of international investors (for the large cap stocks the figure is more
than 60%), who on average do approximately 35% of the trading activity by
value.
In the derivatives market, the average daily traded volume is 65 thousand
contracts (first five months of 2012).
In 2011, the Group launched the XNET service. XNET’s basic aim is to enable
brokers to increase and improve access to international markets, by taking
advantage of the existing infrastructure of the HELEX Group, in order to
provide additional data dissemination services, as well as order routing and
the clearing and settlement of cross-border trades, to the international capital
markets that are supported.

With the support of NAVIGATOR Ltd. Members
DIABOS was formed in 2007 by the promoters of the
J.M Baxi group in India, to offer Disbursement account
management and related services to the shipping
industry.
Focus was on making a viable and efficient processing
centre that would take the advantage of the I.T resources available in India
and to use the experience and the resources available under the J.M Baxi
banner in India to source people from the shipping community in India
would form the team handling the Disbursement account process.
The company has since grown rapidly to now serve 27 Shipping companies
handling 2300 port calls a month. A strategic decision was taken in 2011 to
separate the commercial and operational units to keep costs low in operations
and be flexible and closer to customers in the commercial unit.
The operations were shifted to a leading Infotech part in Pune, India and the
commercial activities of DIABOS have since been based in Dubai. However
the owners of DIABOS remain a part of the J.M Baxi group which adds
credibility and gives the company resources to expand as well as continue to
source people from the shipping industry.
