Introduction Introduction My name is Devin O’Connell and I am a professional race car driver from Madison, CT. I know your /me is valuable, so I want to capture your a[en/on right away by telling you I have Asperger Syndrome, but I have not let that get in the way of being one of the winning Legend drivers in the country, winning both the U.S. Legend Cars road course World Championship and Legends Asphalt Na/onal Championship. I want to thank you for taking the /me to learn more about me, my racing and the marke/ng opportuni/es I offer. I have teamed up with Hallstrom Motorsports and Marke/ng at Full Speed, a premier motorsports marke/ng company. Together we are in the process of crea/ng a high level, top-­‐notch driver development program based in New England. This program is the first of its kind for this region and we are looking to take the program to the highest level of late model racing in New England and beyond. My personal goals are to race with Hallstrom Motorsports in the American Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Star Series (PASS), while increasing exposure of this new program to other up and coming New England drivers. I then plan to move up the ranks to the super late model races in the south and mid-­‐west before taking the leap up to the NASCAR series by 2018. I am looking to team up with marke/ng partners having mutual interest in increasing exposure and awareness of Au/sm Spectrum Disorders. I have a great marke/ng plan in place and am ready to implement with the right partners. I think it is important to know that I did not come from a racing family. My interest in racing started with the combina/on of a classmate who raced karts, Bud’s tourist kart track, and Herbie movies. I was determined to get into the sport and it took me several years to persuade my parents to let me race. Acer 4 years of lobbying my parents, at nine years old, we purchased an old kart. We showed up at our first race with the kart, used /res, and minimal equipment. I finished third in the 17-­‐kart field. By my fourth race, I was in victory lane. I finished my first season with 3 wins, 10 top 3’s in 18 races, and second in points. Needless to say, I was hooked. My kart racing career spanned five years with over 30 wins and 2 championships. At age 12, I moved into an Allison Legacy 3/4 scale car. I raced the Allison Legacy two years in the northern series and 3 in the southern series. My crew chief/father and I learned a tremendous amount about racing, car set up and ourselves during that /me. At 16 years old, I finished my Legacy career as the 2014 Champion, with 10 wins in 16 races! The mentoring I received from Donnie Allison during this /me has been instrumental to my racing success. During 2014, I also began racing Legend cars. I enjoyed immediate success in the Semi-­‐Pro division winning 12 of 35 starts, with 28 top 5 finishes. The highlight of my 2014 season was nearly winning Charlo[e Motor Speedway’s Summer Shootout, with 2 wins and three 2nd place finishes. The first win being televised on na/onal TV. 2015 has been my most successful season yet with 42 wins in 92 races including a WORLD and NATIONAL championship! I have been approached by several late model teams who want me to be their driver. I am determined to make this a reality and have teamed up with Marke&ng at Full Speed in order to learn the intricacies of modern motorsports marke/ng. Devin has worked hard to overcome his disability and succeed at a high level of motorsports. He is truly an inspira/on to others who have been affected by the condi/on. During the month of April, Devin organized a fundraiser for ASRC that yielded over $1,000 for the charity. In addi/on, Hallstrom and Devin plan to run select Pro-­‐Stock (Super) Late Model races in the Pro All Star Series (PASS). Hallstrom Motorsports Hallstrom Motorsports is a top late model race team out of Vermont owned by Louis and Lisa Hallstrom. The team currently fields winning race cars in the ACT Tour and Thunder Road. Evan Hallstrom is debu/ng behind the wheel in his Dare Devil this season at Speedway 51 and Devin O’Connell is the latest driver to lead up the team’s driver development program in the ACT and PASS late model division in New England. honors.html In the U.S. Legend Cars division, it was a year to remember for Devin O’Connell and the #43 Chatham Highlander Motel team. They finished all but 2 races in the top-­‐5 and they led the division with 8 wins to go along with 20 top-­‐5 and 22 top-­‐10 finishes with an average finish of 2.5. Such was O’Connell’s dominance that he wrapped up the championship race with 2 races to go.
