Make Your Special Day Historic A GUIDE TO CELEBRATIONS AT BOOTHBAY RAILWAY VILLAGE A Venue For Those Who Want A Timeless Backdrop To Their Celebration Weddings, family reunions, anniversary parties, and other special days can be celebrated on the grounds of the Boothbay Railway Village. Located just minutes from all the amenities of Boothbay Harbor, including a wide variety of lodging options, excellent restaurants, and shopping, along with outstanding recreation opportunities for your guests. The Spruce Point Chapel The charming Spruce Point Chapel is the perfect place to exchange vows and start a new life together. Its simply elegant chandeliers and warm wood details surround you and your guests with a feeling that time has stopped. The Town Hall Our 1847 Town Hall, with classic Greek Revival architectural details including a gorgeous arched plaster ceiling, can host elegant soirees to casual lobster bakes. The Village Green The large, green expanse of the Village Green can be tented to host events with guest lists larger than most any other site on the Boothbay Peninsula, and the Museum now has ample parking to match. The Green can also be utilized for outdoor ceremonies and wedding portraits. Vintage Transportation For events both on our grounds and elsewhere in the region, the Museum can also help you make a truly magnificent entrance. Imagine walking out of the front of your church to climb inside a classic 1962 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud II, to be whisked away to your reception site in ultimate style! Caboose Birthday Parties Make your child’s birthday a memorable trip back in time. The Museum offers its restored Sandy River & Rangeley Lakes Caboose for your exclusive use. We’ll park the Caboose near our shady picnic area for you to enjoy cake, presents and other birthday traditions before “hooking on” and taking your group on a train ride aboard the Caboose. Your Best Friends Are Welcome Here Your dogs will love the wide expanse of lawn available here. You are welcome to include your best friends in your special day as long as you clean up after them. Event Planning Details FEES, INCLUSIONS, AND RESTRICTIONS Things To Know REQUIREMENTS • • Museum membership at the Patron level ($125) or above is required for individuals wishing to rent any of the facilities. Those joining at the Benefactor level ($500) receive a one-time 25% discount on a facility rental or children’s birthday party fee. Please note that the museum requires an original certificate of liability insurance for all functions. You may obtain this certificate through your homeowner's or renter's insurance agent (typically at no cost) or purchase separate event insurance through a provider such as WedSafe. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES • Food & beverage service • Tableware, glassware, linens, dance floor and other related items. • The set-up and removal of all tables, chairs and rental items are the responsibility of the client and/or caterer. The Museum expects that the client/caterer will leave the premises in an asfound condition. This includes returning the tables and chairs to their original positions, wiping down table tops and chair seats and sweeping the floor. • All trash shall be deposited in the dumpster. • The client agrees to accept a reasonable charge by the Museum if clean-up is deemed inadequate. 1847 Boothbay Town Hall Details INCLUSIONS CAPACITY • Use of 65 chairs and six 8’ tables • 200 lecture style • Available year-round • 150 cocktail party • 120 seated dinner (bar, buffet – without dance floor) • 100 seated dinner with dance floor Capacities may vary based on layout. 1923 Spruce Point Chapel INCLUSIONS • Original lectern and altar furniture • Small restroom and waiting room available behind the altar for the wedding party • Available year-round CAPACITY • Seats approximately 60 adult guests in original wood pews Village Green INCLUSIONS • Four-acre lawn surrounded by Traditional New England Village buildings as well as the pond • Available seasonally, May – October CAPACITY • Limited only by parking (we have approximately 300 spots available) and by the size of your imagination and budget! Caboose Birthday Party INCLUSIONS • Museum admission for up to 15 guests • The use of the Caboose and picnic area for up to 4 hours • One private train ride aboard the Caboose • Available from Mid-June – Mid-October CAPACITY • Limited to no more than 15 guests due to capacity of the Caboose Special Touches FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE MAKE YOUR DAY TRULY REMARKABLE A Train Ride From mid-June through mid-October the Museum’s steam locomotive and meticulously restored rolling stock can be made available exclusively for your guests between 4:30 – 5:30 pm the perfect touch to follow your late afternoon ceremony while your wedding party is taking photographs. Inquire for availability at other times. Model T Rides Imagine treating your guests to Model T Rides through the grounds between your ceremony and reception. Available year-round.
