More Than Just a Day of Golf
Stamford Dollars for Scholars fills a void in our community by providing scholarship
assistance to high school graduates who live or attend high school in Stamford, and who
want to pursue education beyond high school. We share a passionate belief that education
changes the lives of individuals and communities for the better.
We were conceived around a simple idea: together we can help local students achieve their
educational goals. There's no greater gift we can give our student neighbors-in-need than
access to the resources to create a brighter future. Doing so demonstrates our pride in their
determination and support of their goals.
Stamford Dollars for Scholars is a locally run and supported, all-volunteer, 501(c)(3)
non-profit organization founded in 2011 with a simple mission: to mobilize the community and
support Stamford students with impactful scholarship awards to pursue education beyond
high school. In just five years we have awarded 107 scholarships with a value of $358,500.
Many of the students who receive our scholarships are the first to attend college in their
family. Their opportunity is born out of the generosity of our supporters and event
participants.
Stamford Dollars for Scholars is one of over 500 Dollars for Scholars affiliates throughout
America. The first Dollars for Scholars chapter was formed in Fall River, MA in 1958. Dollars
for Scholars is part of Scholarship America, a national organization which has distributed
more than $2.9 billion in scholarship assistance to more than 1.9 million students, funding
both entry-level and multi-year scholarships and emergency financial grants.
We want to thank The Whittingham Family Foundation, for returning as our exclusive
Alumni Sponsor, and for their continued commitment to higher education.
Tee It Up for Scholars provides the means for us to continue the dreams of many aspiring
