Lebone II presents Shaka Zulu Production

The Lebone College II on
Wednesday to Friday, 17-19
August 2016, showcased
their Shaka Zulu Production. The cast was made-up
of learners at the college.
Taken from the movie Shaka
Zulu, the play narrated the
life story of the Zulu warrior
who was born in 1787 and
died on 22 September 1828.
Under the directorship of
their drama teacher, Steven
Kotze; the kids put together
a fantastic production.
The audience was awestruck by the depiction of
the remarkable life of the
Zulu king who was able to
bring all the chiefdoms under one Zulu Kingdom before he was assassinated
by his men and half-brother.
The
talented
Chumani
Mpahlwa, a learner at Lebone, played the role of Shaka Zulu while Rebonegele
Nke played Nandi, Shaka’s
mother.
Ontiretse
Nke
played his father, Senzankagona. The audience were
left in awe with Palesa
Mathebula who played the
role of Mkabayi the (witchdoctor), scheming Shaka’s
death.
The Director of the Production, Steven Kotze, told the
Platinum Weekly newspaper, that the play tells a
unique South African Story.
