Walters Golf, a division of The Walters Group, has become one of the most widely respected golf companies in the country. From its first venture into the private country club market in 1995 to today’s ownership and operation of top-quality, daily fee golf courses, Walters Golf continues their commitment to quality and profitability while offering customers five-star golf experiences and excellent value. Led by businessman and avid golfer Bill Walters, Walters Golf is known in the national golf industry for developing first-class golf facilities. According to Executive Golfer, Walters is “Nevada’s leading golf entrepreneur” who “recognized the need for visitor and corporate friendly golf facilities and packages, and seized on the opportunity, investing millions in four magnificent properties.” In Las Vegas, the company owns and operates Royal Links Golf Club, Desert Pines Golf Club and Bali Hai Golf Club in addition to Las Vegas Golf Getaways, Las Vegas Preferred Tee Times and Cili Restaurant. Bali Hai Golf Club offers 7,002 yards of tropical golf paradise and is the only championship course located directly on the famed Las Vegas Strip. It was designed by Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley and opened in 2000. At Bali Hai players are transported from the hustle and bustle of the casino floors to a tropical golf paradise highlighted by seven-acres of water features, a total of 4,000 trees including 2,500 stands of towering palms and 100,000 tropical plants. Transition and out-of-play areas are accented with Augusta white sand and black volcanic rock outcroppings. This course was home to The Golf Channel’s “Big Break II” in 2004 and was ranked as one of the “Top 40 Best Resort Courses in America” by GolfWeek Magazine. It was also recognized as the “Best Course” and Best High-End Course” in Las Vegas by VegasGolfer Magazine. Bali Hai is also home to the award-winning and nationally recognized Cili Restaurant which is open for lunch everyday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cili serves Contemporary American Cuisine with Asian influences. It has received several awards as one of Las Vegas’ most popular “power lunch” establishments. In the evenings, Cili is only available for pre-booked group functions of 15 or more, with a capacity of up to 1,500. This would include banquets, meetings, weddings, sales presentations, golf outing award dinners and other group events. It is an ideal event facility where your guests will be transported to an exotic south pacific setting, conveniently located right on the Strip, but without the distractions of crowded, smoke filled casinos or long valet lines. Royal Links Golf Club was built to honor the rich history and tradition of the game of golf. Designed by Dye International, this links-style course features the best 18 holes, inspired by eleven of the fourteen different British Open rotation courses. Holes include the “Road Hole” and “Hell Bunker” from the old course at St. Andrews and the “Postage Stamp” from Royal Troon. Other courses in the loop include Carnoustie, Turnberry, Royal Liverpool, Prestwick, Royal Lytham, Muirfield and Royal Birkdale. Monuments were erected at various locations throughout the golf course indicating the spots where great moments in British Open history took place. A Champions Wall stands near the allturf practice range honoring American champions of the British Open. To further enhance the “Scottish” authentic golf experience, Royal Links also offers caddies which are extremely knowledgeable about the history of each hole, as well the location of the 108 pot bunkers, many of which are hidden. One of Bill Walters proudest accomplishments sits Desert Pines Golf Club and like the other Walters Golf courses in Las Vegas, this course offers golfers a uniquely themed experience unlike any other in the City of Entertainment. Here, within 15 minutes of the heart of The Strip or 10 minutes from downtown, golfers are transported to the Carolina sandhills. This Dye-designed layout features over 4,000 mature trees lining lush fairways, with whitesand bunkers protecting large bent grass greens. Desert Pines served as the official host course for The Golf Channel’s “Big Break II” in 2004 and was recently ranked in the “Top 50 Golf Courses in Country” by GolfWeek Magazine. Desert Pines is home to the only two-tiered, climatecontrolled practice center in Las Vegas. The target greens were fashioned after some of the most famous Par-3 holes in the country: TPC Sawgrass, Pinehurst No. 2, Harbor Town Golf Links, Pebble Beach and Plum Creek.
