Board of Directors. 2. Approval of the minutes from Regular Meeting held Thursday, April 21, 2016. 3. (WEDA, Inc.) Presentation and Review of FY 14 (10.2014 – 09.2015) Form-990. 4. Monthly Economic Development Report – April 2016. a. WEDB 2nd Q 2016 CC Report. 5. Citizen Comments on Non-Agenda Items. Residents may address the Board regarding an item that is not listed on the agenda. Residents MUST complete a registration card and provide their name and address. The Board requests that comments be limited to three (3) minutes. Call Regular Meeting to Order: the city Weatherford Economic Development Board (City WEDB) and the Weatherford Economic Development Authority, Inc. (WEDA, Inc.) Board of Directors. President Randall Young called the Regular meeting to order of the city Weatherford Economic Development Board (city WEDB) and the Weatherford Economic Development Authority, Inc. (WEDA, Inc.) Board of Directors at 9:02 A.M. Present were: President Randall Young, Vice-President Ken Davis, Dr. Kevin Eaton, Dr. Jeffery Hanks, Mr. Dale Fleeger, Mr. Kevin Cleveland, Ex-officio City Manager Sharon Hayes, City Attorney Ed Zellers, Assistant City Manager James Hotopp. WEDD Staff: Dennis Clayton, Nicole Howard. Absent: Secretary Tammy Gazzola. 2. Approval of the minutes from Regular Meeting held Tuesday, March 29, 2016. President Randall Young called for a motion to approve the minutes from the Regular Meeting held Tuesday, March 29, 2016. Motion to approve the minutes from the Regular Meeting held Tuesday, March 29, 2016, was made by Ken Davis; second by Kevin Cleveland. Motion carried 6 – 0. 3. Monthly Economic Development Report – March 2016. Mr. Clayton presented the March report with 11 new prospects for the month with a total of 42 year-to-date, and 10 prospect site visits for a total of 35 year-to-date, both good metrics for the YTD. He noted that 4 of the 11 prospects are start-up with only 1 or 2 jobs each. He highlighted the development activities with 2 prospects & follow-ups from the downtown marketing effort and the Weatherford Chamber “Leadership Weatherford” industry tours led by WEDD. He also highlighted the very large increase in the sales tax in April [Feb. sales] that makes the year-to-date up over 5%. No Action Required or Taken. a. Update on downtown SEQ marketing effort. Mr. Clayton presented a report on the owner-led downtown marketing effort including the 04.06 news article, photos of the 2009 and current façade condition, a perspective scale to the corner rendering, an update of the three direct-mail cards and the marketing banner/poster. President Young introduced the new Main Street Director, Debra Wakeland. Some discussion followed. No Action Required or Taken. 4. Citizens Comments on Non-Agenda Items: None 5. Executive Session – Pursuant to Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, VTCS, (Open Meetings Law): A. Motion to recommend that the City Council consider approval of an economic development agreement for the Identity Capital, LLC project #1 as presented was made by Ken Davis; seconded by Jeffery Hanks. Motion carried 6 – 0. 7. Set date, time, & place of next meeting – Thursday, May 19, 2016; (3rd Thursday), 9:00 AM, City Hall. No Action Required or Taken. 8. Adjourn.
