Can yet another year be slipping
past us way too quickly? Here it is
mid-Summer, and already we are
talking about another set of tours
for 2015. Maybe the time has passed
so quickly because of the fun Gold
Leaf has been having in 2014. It all
started with a fantastic week on a
beautiful beach in Mexico in February,
gained momentum when visiting
to San Francisco and Lake Tahoe
in April, and rolled right through
our incredible two-week Alaskan
Adventure in June. And we still have
Croatia coming up in September!
Of course in between those bigger
trips ,we’ve been enjoying great day
tours throughout Missouri. But the
thing to remember is that 2015 will
be here soon enough, and now is the
time to decide what you want to see
and where you want to go next year.
Loretta and I have chosen what we
think are some fantastic destinations
including Southern France & Paris,
Oregon & Washington, the Canadian
Maritimes, and we just gotta go back
to that beautiful beach in Mexico.
We invite you to take a look at all we
have to offer and attend one or all of
our previews. And of course we look
forward to seeing you on a daytrip or
one of our Holiday Events. Thanks
again for your support, and Happy
Travels!

Octoberfest on the
Lake of the Ozarks
Wednesday, October 22
Includes transportation, lunch, all tours
and admissions, and more!
$9
0
Break out your lederhosen (or not) and get in a German
mood for an October day on the Lake of the Ozarks with a
decidedly Teutonic tone. The highlight will be a wonderful
German lunch at a new Gold Leaf favorite: Der Essen Platz
Restaurant. Our meal there last year was a real highlight,
and Noelle has promised another German feast with
homemade sauerkraut, sausages and of course beer and
wine. We will also take a lake cruise (squint your eyes and
it will look a little like the Rhine) and visit the swinging
bridges of Miller County. Or maybe that’s Mueller County?
There will be other German surprises and by the time you
get home you’ll swear you spent the day in Bavaria.

Learn how to make traveling, packing and getting
through busy airports easier and smoother during
this one-hour seminar hosted by Jerry. There are so
many simple things you can do to simplify your travel
experience, giving you more time and energy to enjoy
the destination. For example: Tip #47. Wrap your clothes
in used dry cleaning bags – it will help keep out the
wrinkles and save you ironing time. It really works! Learn
more at this informative and fast-moving class.

Less than 10 seats remain for our annual fall tour to Macon, the Maples
Theatre and the Pear Tree. As always, we will have time for some shopping,
grab an ice cream cone at Rexall Drug and then see a hilarious production
of Bingo: The Musical at the Maples Theatre. After the show, we are off for
a wonder Pear Tree dinner – the best around. It’s an Autumn Gold Leaf
tradition. Come again or come for the first time, you won’t regret it!

Includes: Motorcoach transportation, all tours and
museums, lunch on the base and more!
Armed Service Veterans, history buffs or just those looking to have

Get To Know Your Banker ...
Carole Reynolds
AVP/Branch Manager
Carole Reynolds grew up in Florissant, Mo.
She has lived in mid-Missouri for 34 years and
came to Fulton to attend Westminster College.
How long have you been in
banking? 21 years
spending time with my husband
now that we are empty nesters!
How long have you been
employed at The Callaway Bank?
Tell us about your family.
16 years
Tell us about your first position
with the callaway bank.
My first position with the
bank was as a Personal Banker
(although we didn’t call them
that yet) and a Real Estate
Lender.
What is your fondest memory
of working at TCB?
I don’t have just one single
fondest memory. I feel fortunate
to work with many good,
capable people and enjoy the
fact that I’ve developed many
long-term relationships with
our customer base.
Tell us about your
community involvement.
As my kids were growing
up, I participated in many
activities related to their school
and athletic activities. I was
treasurer for years for the local
PTA and spent lots of time at
ShowMeState games/activities.
I served for a time with the Red
Cross and Women’s Network.
I’m mostly involved with
community activities associated
with the church that we attend,
but quite frankly have enjoyed
Our son, Ryan, is a preschool
teacher at Tiger Tots Preschool
in Columbia. He spent about
four years working with
developmentally disabled
youth and adults and decided
to make a change. He worked
in daycare/preschools while he
was in college and has a degree
as a Childlife Specialist. Our
daughter, Alyssa, is employed
by Learfield Communications
in Jefferson City. She is an
Affiliate Coordinator and
works with dozens of colleges/
universities across the country
to make sure all of their sports
programming goes on the air
when it’s supposed to. She works
some with the billing aspect of
the programming as well. My
husband, Joe, has been employed
with Ameren for nearly 29 years.
He is trained as a welder.
Accomplishment(s) you are
most proud of.
I’m most proud of my kiddos
and my husband. My kids have
taught me as much as I’ve taught
them. My husband is amazing in
that he can fix almost anything.
We come from very different
backgrounds so we’ve learned
a lot from each other.
What do you enjoy doing when
you‘re not at the bank?
Camping, fishing, and
travelling. My husband and I
also enjoy venturing out to any
winery, any restaurant!
What are you most passionate
about? Helping our customers
in anyway that I can. I wear
many hats for the bank so I can
help a customer with just about
anything that they may need.
Most people don’t know that I ...
have a mother, brother and sister
who were all born in Germany.
If you were stranded on a

Playa Del Carmen
February 20-28, 2015
Last February nearly thirty Gold Leafers spent a wonderful week at the Iberostar Tucan Resort in Playa Del Carmen.
The resort was clean and comfortable with wonderful accommodations , was easy to get around, had a friendly staff,
a wonderful beach, and great food and drink. In short, it was all we were hoping for. So when the question came up
whether to go back in 2015, the answer was a resounding “YES!” The Tucan is NOT a mega-resort and has a very
friendly feel. The property also serves as a nature preserve and is home to troupes of monkeys and other native
animals. Playa Del Carmen is an easy taxi ride away, and long walks on the beach are a daily option. Plus there is are
fantastic pools, nightly entertainment and five gourmet restaurants with cuisine from around the world.
