ABOUT THE SHOW
Through the eyes of a seasoned Alaskan guide and our special guests, our show
focuses on Alaska with special episodes in the Lower 48 states and abroad. The
inspiration for the show started with a real life “I shouldn't be alive” experience.
In 2010 while mountain goat hunting, Jon got caught in a snowstorm and fell
nearly 400 feet down to the edge of a cliff and spent a terrifying night of fighting
for his life. Stuck in below freezing temperatures with no visibility the search and
rescue was called off. After a hopeless night, Jon was rescued after suffering a
concussion, hypothermia, and ruptured disc. His story and belief that life is too short to spend it doing anything but what you love is what drives
Jon's passion.
Guiding and sharing that experience on outdoor adventures with others is what
makes that dream a reality. Jon wants to film the people that he has met over the years, from the true Alaskan adventurers, to first-time outdoorsman and
our youth...the next generation. He wants to inspire everyone to follow their dreams, experience the great outdoors, and understand what makes this life and
America so special.
Well respected and known throughout the industry, our producers have over 45
years of television experience, have worked with more than 35 tv shows, have
edited over 300 episodes of television and numerous commercials, as well as
corporate, political and web videos. Commanding nothing less than excellence in
broadcast and having worked with countless household names in outdoor
television they have earned the utmost respect among their clients and colleagues

If there is any one thing that can be said of Jon Baker it is that he has a heart as big as he is. But don’t let that fool you. His passion for the outdoors is
even larger. He has been a Junior, Amateur and Professional golf champion from Arizona,
Goodwill Ambassador in Spain and Portugal, heavy equipment operator in the Alaskan Arctic,
and a fishing and hunting guide on some of the most remote rivers and lakes in Alaska. A
soft-‐spoken man, Jon is a natural teacher as
sincere as the day is long. Jon makes his
living as a hunting and fishing guide,
outdoor adventure booking consultant and golf instructor because it combines all
of his passions, talents and experience.

fly fishermen how to cast and the coolness to instruct seasoned
hunters how to track Brown
Bear in the bush — in two languages! There are few places in
the Alaskan wilderness Jon has not
visited and he looks forward to sharing his quest for adventure with you.

DORIAN THOMPSON
Co-Host/Marketing
Dorian Thompson is professional fly fishing guide for Winston Fly Rods,
an award winning fly tier, an Alaskan Guide Outfitter, and
Owner/Operator of River Gold Outfitters based in Oregon. He is an
avid conservationist and dedicated steward of the watersheds,
wilderness areas and wildlife that have shaped his life. Dorian has been
guiding the Pacific Northwest and Alaska's most prized and remote
wilderness areas for over fifteen years. During that time he guided and
operated a World-Class flout lodge in Western Alaska and has had the
opportunity to work alongside some of the most recognized
outdoorsman of our era. When not guiding, he can be found trekking
the surrounding regions in search of fish, birds and other game, always
seeking to create new memories in the field with his faithful pointer by
his side. DorIan grew up hunting and fishing in the San Juan mountains of
southwest Colorado. With abundant wilderness and wildlife just out his
backdoor, he was naturally drawn to a lifestyle which would lead him
into the great outdoors in all aspects of his life. His journey has
provided him with a great deal of knowledge and experience in living
and flourishing in the backcountry. He has a strong respect for nature
and an acute understanding of animal behavior which gives him an
edge while on his adventures.
Aside from all of these credits, Dorian is also an expert whitewater
guide, a licensed Coast Guard boat captain, and a product designer,
developer and marketer in the outdoor industry and he brings all of
these passions, talents and skills to his role in Guide 4 Adventure.
