The band members, who will be dressed for the occasion in native lederhosen, will present music from Germany, Bavaria, Austria and Switzerland with polkas, Swedish hambos, waltzes and schuhplattlers. Over the years, this band has performed all over Europe and the Panama Canal. Recently, they performed in Vienna and throughout Austria and Switzerland. The band members are all accomplished musicians: Tony Raymonn is the band leader who lives in Napa by way of Switzerland. He has been playing the accordion and yodeling for over 50 years beginning at age 16. When he came to the U.S. in 1960, he formed "The Edelweiss Band." Otto Dittman, the sax player and vocalist is of Bavarian and German decent who came to the U.S. to attend college. During this time, he also performed with his family's German band. Later, he toured Korea, performing in the 24th Division of the Army Band. Gary Sommerfeld, the band's drummer and vocalist, is of German decent. He learned music from his father who was a renowned and highly accomplished accordionist. Gary has been playing since he was a three-year-old. Dick Bowman plays trombone and tuba and is a vocalist with over 50 years to his credit. He has performed with such groups as The Internationals and The Alpiners. Hailing from German heritage, Dick currently lives in Piedmont. Mike Sarkisian, who lives in'Sacramento, plays trumpet, banjo and sings. Renee Sommers plays the Alpenhorn.
