Because ...
Excellence Really Matters !
In Architect-US Professional Career Training Program we are devoted
to facilitate professional exchange, encourage global dialogues and
promote cross-pollination among Architects, Engineers and
Designers from all over the world.
The Architect-US Professional Career Training Program facilitates the J-1 Visa arrangements and
health insurance of exchange visitors, providing structured on-the-job training to the most
talented and up-and-coming Building Industry Internationals. The goal of the program is to match
the most promising global talents and arrange intern/trainee placements with companies in the
U.S. (for up to 18 months) while promoting the value of cross-cultural exchange.
Architect-US will work with Host Companies either facilitating the visa arrangements to
international candidates already selected by them or, will work closely with the Host Company to
find the right match that most accurately fit the company requirements, conducting a thorough
selection process based on academic background, work experience and graphic portfolio.

Furthermore, it is not necessary for Host Companies to offer participants health insurance, as all

State Department requirements for the length of their stay in the U.S.
Nevertheless, J-1 Exchange Visitor Program participants under no circumstances are permitted to
seek additional employment while in the U.S. Working anywhere else besides your organization is

1st Architect-US Generation
Opportunities for our participants
The program offers US firms a valuable opportunity to connect and strengthen ties with architects,
engineers and designers in emerging and established markets and provides access to young
professionals who hail from Europe, South America, Asia and the Middle East that are eager to
learn from American techniques and methodologies.
The American Institute of Architects
National Convention, held on May
19-21st 2016 in Philadelphia, is the
perfect scenario to promote global
dialogues and advocate for excellence
and talent among the people who lead
the resurgence of the American
Building Industry.
The story of Sixteen Architectural Dreams
AIA National Convention Architect-US Booth Design Competition
The Architect-US’s 1st Generation is made up of sixteen architects coming from all over the world
- Canada, Spain, France, Croatia, Argentina, Denmark and Sweden - and working in leading U.S.
based companies, both in Architecture and Engineering. We couldn’t be more delighted for having
helped these young talents to make their American Dream come true!
Aiming to raise public awareness about the Architect-US Professional Career Training Program and
the benefits of hosting international talent, Architect-US launched an international call for entries,
open to students and professionals in the field of Architecture, Design and Engineering, for the
design of the booth with which Architect-US participates in the AIA Convention.
The aim of the competition was to provide students and young professionals with the opportunity
of having a first approach to the world of exhibitions and ephemeral architecture in an
international environment, while getting their design built in PhilAIAdelphia 2016, the most
prestigious and higher international standing of the Architecture, Construction and Design
American Industry.
The competition counted with a prestigious jury composed of the following members:

Trusted by some of the World’s Most Prestigious Organizations
Beyond an educational training service, the Architect-US program offers host companies the ability
to promote diversity, expand business opportunities, and test potential workers without the
long-term commitment of a working visa.
Kenneth Drucker, Design Principal at HOK’s NY Office, one of the Architect-US’s first U.S. based
hosts, had this to say about the program: “In Europe, there are different issues of scale, urban
design and architectural technologies. Trading that information is a great opportunity for HOK, as
both sides of this process can learn from each other. Creating a culture of communication
between different countries allows us to create global experiences and global opportunities.
We’ve already had one successful trainee and are ready to open our doors to other talents.” Refer

Another Architect-US supporter is English architectural icon, Sir Peter Cook, Crab Studio Co-Founder,
who says, “I find that in recent years, particularly speaking from London, we are dependent upon
the cross-fertilization of our own cultural stream...we’ve become more global. I think any office in
England with only English people are A, extremely boring and B, not really reflective of the cultures
we exist within.” Refer to www.architect-us.com to see Sir Peter Cook full interview.
The Spanish Ministry of Labor and Social Security awarded Architect-US with the Programa Jóvenes
Grant due to the diversity&inclusion work and job opportunities for students & young professionals.
