“I want ice cream!” I yelled. I was in Greece,Pilio. We were at the beach. I love

part was the ice cream. Greece is an amazing place to go to. Every year 16
million tourists go. That is a lot of people for such a tiny country. In this article I
will tell you what you need to bring to Greece, good places to visit, good food to
eat, and fun facts. I hope you learn some things from this article!

What To Bring To Greece
Here comes my worst favorite part about vacation. Packing. I don’t really like packing
but I have to do it because I wouldn’t want to go on vacation without any clothes. Now I
am going to tell you what you need to bring to Greece. It can be hard to pack
sometimes if you don’t know anything about the place you are going to visit. One of the
most important things you need to bring is a passport. A passport will help you get
onto the plane. Now I will tell about some things that you will need to bring. Something
very important is clothes. You never want to forget about those. You should also need
to bring some comfy pajamas. It can get pretty cold at night. You should also bring
goggles if you are going to be by an ocean. The salt water can sting your eyes. A very
important thing to bring is a toothbrush. I would not want my teeth to rot on vacation.
You should bring bathing suits if you are going to be by an ocean. Even if you are not
then you still should because you can play in the sprinkler. Another important thing you
need to bring are stuffed animals. Of course for little kids. I think that bringing stuffed
animals because little kids like to play and cuddle with them. Well that is about all I
have to say. Wait I forgot about one thing. A hairbrush!!!!!!!!!!! Or a comb. These are
important because in Greece there are some really fancy restaurants, you would want
your hair to look neat.

Good Places to Visit
If you want to go to Greece then you might want to know about a few good recommendations. Well
Athens is one of my favorites. There is a new museum there. The coolest thing about it (This is my
opinion) is that in one part of the museum there is a glass floor. And right under you is an ancient city.
There are scientists right under you that are digging for old ancient things. It is a sight to see. Athens
also has old historical points that you might want to see. An example would be Acropolis. Another good
place to visit in Greece is Skiathos. I would recommend it because it is an island and I have been there.
The weather is very nice there. Every day the weather reaches up to at least 100 degrees. I remember
that when I went I loved it because of the ocean. I had so many adventures there like when I went
freediving by the rocks and I saw amazing fish and I found a very interesting shell. Something that you
can do there is that you can take a boat trip around the island. I would recommend this because you
would get to see the whole island. I would do his because the people on the boat can tell you good
places to go and things like that. Now the next place that I want to share with you is Mykonos. Mykonos
is one of the most beautiful islands to visit. Get this, 750,000 tourists visit Mykonos every year. That is so
awesome! Now, let me tell ya somethin’, in Mykonos the most popular thing that people do there is go to
the beach. That is always my favorite part. I love building sand castles and swimming in the salt water
ocean. Another thing you can do is go to Castle Panagiragis. This castle has an amazing view. It is also
a great way to go out and explore the island. One last thing you can do in Mykonos is is go to the
Aegean Maritime Museum. This museum stores ancient artifacts and things like that. Now that we are
done with Mykonos let’s move on to our last stop. Drum roll Please, our next stop is Santorini! One
amazing thing that you can do there is a hike from Fira to Oia. This may be a long hike but it is a great
way to see the island. Another thing that you can do there is Mnemosyne Artist’s home. Here you can
see paintings and jewelry and other art related things. One last thing that you can do is go to the
Museum of Prehistoric Thera. This way you can learn about the history and see amazing ancient
artifacts.
Well that’s the end of of Good Places to go to.

Great Greek Food
Now when you go to Greece of course you want to go to the beach and explore. But
some of the best part of exploring is the food! Greek food is delicious. One of my
favorites is grilled octopus. (EWWW) This may sound disgusting but if you try it you
might like it. Another one of my favorites is spanakopita. Spanakopita is spinach pie.
Well it is not actually related to pie. The ingredients that spanakopita has are spinach,
filo, and feta cheese. Another food that we eat is pastistio. Pastistio is a very delicious
food. It has pasta, meat and bechamel sauce. Now the last food that I am going to tell
you about is saganaki. Saganaki is grilled cheese. Now let’s move on to desserts. My
favorite dessert of all time is kokakia. The kokakia are very small. They fit in a cupcake
wrapper. They are two layers of vanilla cake with custard in the middle. On top is
chocolate. One more dessert that I love is galaktoboureko. Galaktoboureko is a custard
with filo on top. There is also a syrup that goes on top. The last dessert that I am going to
tell you about is baklava. This dessert is made out of pistachios and walnuts. Topped
with a handmade syrup. Well I hope you learned about some Greek food.

There was a war between the Turks and the Greeks that lasted 400 years. The
Greeks were under Turkey’s power.
The biggest island in Greece is Crete.
One of the first pizzas was made in Greece.
The 5th century BC was known as the Golden Age of Pericles because that was
when the Acropolis and Parthenon were built.
Acro means edge and polis means city in Greek.
Greece has one of the oldest civilizations. The Minoan is one of the oldest
civilizations in the world from the island Crete. It is almost 5,000 years old.
Modern Western culture has foundations from the Ancient Greek Culture. An
example of this would be Western Philosophy as Socrates is one of its main
founders.
The ancient Greeks were major contributors to mathematics, geometry,
architecture, and physics.
Hippocrates is one of the most famous people in the history of medicine. He
founded the Hippocratic School of Medicine and to this day the Hippocratic
Oath is still used.
Not to brag but if there were no Greeks a lot of the things that we have today
might not even be here. For example a lot of medicines, mathematics,
geometry, architecture and physics. There are many more.
Conclusion
Now here is a quick flashback about the things that you learned today.
You learned about what to bring, good places to go to, good food, and
fun facts! Now that you know more about Greece and information
about traveling there I am going to give you some homework. Don’t
worry though, it’s not bad homework. You don’t have to do it if you
don’t want to. But if you are interested in going to Greece and you
need more information, then search it up on the internet. If you want to
go to Mykonos and you want to know more things about it like what
you can do there, you should search it up. If you want to search it up
on the internet you should type in the google search bar “Things to do
in Mykonos” or wherever you want to go. You can also look at books. If
you know you want to go then you should go look at tickets. Now for
the final thing I will list my top 3 favorite things to do in Greece.
Number 1: I love going freediving by rocks. Number2: I love eating all
the amazing seafood and greek food My favorite is fried octopus.
Number 3: I love watching the sunset with all the bright colors
splashing all over the sky. I hope that if you go to Greece one day you
will enjoy it as much as I do. (Including the ice cream!)
