VOTE FOR KEAN LOONG
for a FUN year ahead!
Hi everybody, my name is Zhi Yan, in my first year doing Actuarial Science. I am
running for the position of Vice President of the Malaysian Society. It will be
my honour to be able to serve the Malaysian Society as the Vice President if I
am elected. I wish to make all our time together here in London an amazingly
unforgettable experience.
What I will do FOR EVERYONE if I am elected:
 Be extremely approachable to any concerns and suggestions about any
potential future events, no suggestion will be neglected!
 Provide supportive effort to other members in the Committee
 Devote full commitment in ensuring every event organised by the
Society runs smoothly.
 Engage actively with members to make sure nobody feels left out. We
are all part of a big family!
 Organise a whole medley of events ranging from recreational events,
where we take a break from the hectic lifestyles of LSE at low or no cost,
social events, what’s a better way to bond than having SUBSIDISED food
feasts together, Career based events, to make sure we do not side-track
from our priorities and Day Trips out of London, exploration is not all
that fun alone and Outings like Musicals, Ice Skating, Laser Tag, and so
much more!!
 Approach potential sponsors (Food and Beverages) to negotiate
discounts for FOODDDD!!
 Maintain good relationships with current sponsors (SSC and ACCA)
With my driven passion, I will take the initiative to maintain the great
work done by the previous committee members whilst seeking chances
to improve them. Actions will speak louder than words. Vote for me!
Cheers.
TEY KHANG YEE
Standing for:
Vice President of LSESU Malaysia Club
I believe in equality and freedom for all. Members of LSESU Malaysia Club certainly have the
right to voice their own opinions and be heard. If elected I will do my best and make a
difference, for the better.
 Fundraising
Personally, I think that the LSESU Malaysia Club is lacking of sponsorship funds. By gaining
more funds either by searching for sponsorships or organizing fundraising events, members
may attend events at a more affordable price. If elected, I will stand out for more
opportunities in seeking sponsorships to subsidize on club activities instead of solely
depending on one or two fundraising events.
 Strengthening Unity
In most societies, there is always an invisible wall between seniors and juniors. If elected, I
will put my effort to break through the walls, strengthen the bonds between seniors and
juniors, forming a Malaysian Family abroad. This can be done by enhancing interaction
between seniors and juniors through various social events. By strengthening unity among
members, seniors and juniors could help each other to strive through difficulties at times.
 Enlarging the Community
To reach out to those non-active members, getting them involve in various activities and
making them feel home. To recruit more members disregard their nationalities by
promoting Malaysia Club and make it internationally well known. An example to this is by
teaching them a new language, for instance Bahasa Malaysia or various dialects. Also we
could provide them with the idea of a multiracial country and introduce well-known
Malaysian Food.

VOTE MICO CHAI AS THE NEXT LSESU MCLUB PROJECT DIRECTOR!
Hellooo! A short intro!
I am Mico Chai, a first year undergrad doing a course in Mathematics with Economics. Currently a Junior
Executive Committee of the LSESU Malaysia Club, in charge of planning the LSESU MClub Theatre Outing.
Past experiences in organising/planning:
-Cardiff Sixth Form College Graduation Dinner ‘12
-Cardiff Sixth Form College Annual Cultural Event ‘11
-Sri KL Drama Competition: ’11 Sigma’ Director
Why vote for me?
I am diligent, responsible and approachable. Having a 100% commitment in what I do, I readily face
challenges and am determined to not accept failures. I work comfortably within a team and handle pressure
well.
Coming to study at a University in central London is no doubt exciting but it can also be quite a daunting
experience. But thanks to events such as the Pre-Departure Dinner and the Freshers’ Camp, we get to meet
new friends before even arriving at this unfamiliar environment. I think this plays a major role in letting us feel
a sense of belonging.
This is why I wish to apply to be your Project Director. I aim to bring all of us, Malaysians at LSE, closer
together through organising fun, unforgettable events!
Visions and Aspirations!

Start a “suggestion box”(an email) for all members to suggest any events that they would like to have.

Plan a fund-raising event in Lent Term to increase our club’s funds, so that we can subsidise more
events for you!

Definitely plan more MAKAN sessions! I miss Malaysian food, don’t you?

Liaise with other community-based societies (other countries) to co-organise events to promote our
Malaysian culture and also to experience the many different cultures of the international student
community at LSE. After all, we came here to study to experience a different culture right?!

Co-organise events with other university’s Malaysian Societies in the UK, especially in London, to
expand our social circle and form greater bonding between the Malaysians in the UK.

Organise career-oriented events to provide more information for those of you who wish to return to
Malaysia to work. We’ve been clouded by all the careers available here and sometimes we forgot the
opportunities that we have back in Malaysia.

Work together with the committee to ensure the success of our MNight and Annual Flagship Clubbing
Event to showcase our Malaysian culture and raise funds, respectively.

Further promote the aims and visions of LSESU MClub through organising various events.
I hope to be able to work with the other committee members to bring you a memorable
year ahead!
Believe me, Vote for me!
Thank you! 

Post running for: Project Director
I am running for the position of Project Director as I consider myself capable of initiating
projects for members as well as liaising with other clubs for joint events. I'd like to join the
committee because it is a good platform for me to utilize my knowledge in event
management and organisation for the club, as well as to acquire new ones. I am prepared
and flexible towards any deviation of situation. I have good energy and am a good fit for this
position as a Project Director.
I was the team leader in the prefectorial board and am able to provide a good environment
in a crowd. I am able to facilitate a team of people into achieving a particular goal. I am a
team player but am not hesitant to step up as a leader if ever necessary. I was trained to be
discipline and to be pro-active in handling responsibilities. I will guarantee a full
commitment if ever given this duty.
I was the President of my college’s choir club and I have had many experiences with singing
for charity for example Audio Appreciation Event where proceeds were donated to deaf
organisations in Malaysia. I have also led my team into producing and performing a charity
concert to help disabled children under the global foundation of ‘Make a Wish’. With this
invaluable experience, I believe I understand better the importance and urgency of a
dateline and the capability of working under pressure. I am outgoing and have an easy going
character that will suit this job in the process of organising an event.
I was the secretary of the Rotary Club back in Malaysia. Besides handling documentary work
of the club, I stepped up to be a committee in the annual International Understanding Day
2010 where the Rotary Interact Club introduces different cultures from all around the world
to students of Malaysia. I was the Head of Ticketing as well as managing Food and
Beverages of the event. Besides that, the committee as a team managed to score
sponsorships from companies such as Krispy Kreme and HOT magazine. With this
experience, I have a vast overview of what planning an event entails.
Given the position of Project Director in Malaysian Club, I aspire to hold events that will not
only help LSE Malaysian Students feel comfortable here in LSE but to also leave a good
memory of the club to its members. To encourage and inspire success amongst us as club as
well as occasionally bringing a bit of home to be experienced here in LSE is what I aim to
accomplish as a Project Director.
With all these skill sets, I hope you will consider me as a candidate capable of organising
events as a Project Director.
Thank you.
VOTE FOR XINYUUN AS PROJECT DIRECTOR!
Hello everyone! I’m Xin Yuun and I’m a first year undergraduate doing
Actuarial Science. I’m running for the position of Project Director.
Why me?
Other than having experiences organizing events in the past, I’m a really
committed and responsible person. When given a task, I will do my best
to make sure that it’s done properly within the given deadline. I’m also
very approachable so if you have any events in mind that you want the
Malaysia Club to organize, you can always come up to me and voice your
opinions! 
Visions and Aspirations!
If I’m elected as the project director, I would definitely organize more
social events like day trips or eating sessions! I feel that events like these
are a good way for members of the Malaysia Club to bond with one
another and also to distress and feel less homesick. One major event I
would like to organize is a trip to Europe! I know this sounds ambitious
but I would really like to try and make it happen! Other than social
events, I would also like to plan events that are more career-orientated.
So while we play hard, we also study hard! :D
Last but not least, as your project director, I will make your experience in
university an unforgettable one so please vote for me! Thank you! 
FONG JES CEE
MANIFESTO 2012
POSITION : PROJECT DIRECTOR
o Members get to voice out what activities they want
Members of LSESU Malaysia Club deserve an opportunity to have a say. What
activities they like, what activities they want – every individual have different
opinions. A strong voice is what they need to get their needs across, so that their
voice will be taken into consideration, and LSESU Malaysia Club may amend its
activities to suit the members’ needs. Electing me is your opportunity, for a voice, for
a feeling, for an idea.
o Fun yet affordable weekend activities
It is not necessary that money can guarantee joy. Certainly, there are some fun and
enjoyable activities that could be organized at low cost. Also, by searching for group
discounts and keeping an eye on promotional deals, LSESU Malaysia Club activities
such as theatre outing and day trips can be kept at an affordable price, therefore
more members could participate in these events.
o Organizing joint activities with other societies
Why do Malaysians opt to study abroad? Definitely to meet people of different
backgrounds and nationalities. By organizing joint activities with other societies,
Malaysia Club serves as a platform for the members to socialize with other people,
to understand more about their ethnics and culture and to have fun of course!
