FURNITURE RETURN POLICY
Our goal at C&L Supply, Inc. is to deliver our dealers quality merchandise on time that is in good condition.
We realize that this is not always the case, as damage and defects
are a part of the furniture business. This form has been designed to
clarify how these problems should be handled and where responsibility lies.
Our primary concern is to make returns, damage, etc. as fair as possible. To do that, it is important that you let us know in advance if you
are making a return. To facilitate this process, we will require a RA (Return Authorization) before any returns are accepted. OUR DRIVERS ARE
NOT ALLOWED TO PICK-UP ANY MERCHANDISE WITHOUT THE
RA.
Our Responsibility
1. To our knowledge, no manufacturer will give an unequivocal guarantee on furniture as they have no control over the use, treatment or
conditions to which the merchandise may be subjected. It is our desire, however, to stand behind our merchandise as manufacturer warranties allow and to any reasonable extent in all questions involving
product satisfaction.
2. We know that furniture is not a “perfectly" made product; however,
it is our intention to sell furniture of a certain quality that represents
fair value. Many of the items we distribute, such as sofas, mattresses
and recliners, will begin to show wear patterns and body impressions over time. These are not manufacturer’s defects, and are a normal result of the use of the product. Just like a new pair of shoes,
consumers should expect a break-in period when purchasing many
types of soft and upholstered goods. Warranty Cards provided by
most manufacturers we distribute provide clear guidelines regarding
what the manufacturer considers to be a warranty claim. We encourage you to become familiar with their policies.
We have always stood behind every item we sell and you can rest assured, we will not avoid our responsibility.
Your Responsibility
1. It is your responsibility to inspect the merchandise at the time of arrival. You are protected from concealed damage if you notify us
within 10 days of receipt of delivery. For merchandise that is packaged in polyurethane bags (sofas, mattresses, upholstered goods,
etc.) it is especially important to look over the merchandise upon delivery, and to note on the Bill of Lading the occasional scuff, drag
mark or burn. After our truck leaves your place of business, it’s impossible to pinpoint the source of damages of this type. Please handle these items carefully and please take extra precautions not to
drag merchandise that is packaged in polyurethane bags.
2. Imperfection and minor defects are NOT reasons for returning items
and are the dealer’s responsibility to correct. No furniture is perfect
because of the principal product from which it is made – wood.
Wood is soft, easily scratched and bruised. It contracts or expands
with changes in humidity. Most furniture must be serviced when removed from cartons. Tight drawers or doors, slight scratches and
dents are not defects and are the responsibility of the dealer to
service before delivery to his/her customer. Furniture should not be
unpacked in the customer’s home. All touch-up work should be done
by the dealer before delivery to the customer.
3. In all cases, please make sure you note on shipment “abnormalities"
or visible damage on the Delivery Manifest when accepting receipt
of goods.
4. If the item is permanently marked with your store name, it will be repaired and returned only.
Procedures for Returning Merchandise
1. If merchandise is damaged upon delivery to the dealer, that item
should be refused and returned. No written authorization is necessary. We will replace the damaged item(s) on your next delivery.
2. All concealed damage claims must have a written authorization before the merchandise can be returned. Please adhere to the following guidelines when making a claim:
a. Notify your C&L Salesman or Inside Sales Rep
immediately.
b. Be prepared to furnish the following information:
• Model #, serial # (if applicable) and product
description
• Detailed description of defect or damage
• Order # and date of purchase
3. Dealer must return merchandise with original packing materials. Concealed damage should be found when unpacking merchandise, therefore, packing material should be available to be returned with item.
