Domina HP and Domina HP Cover
3-Leaf (Giesse patent) include
removable pins. This characteristic
simplifies and speeds up removal
of the wing from the frame,
particularly for wings already
installed with a pane.
A vast array of hinge C/C distances
in flush profiles which, combined
with 7, 8, or 10 mm shims, allow
the application of step profiles, and
greatly reducing the number of
warehoused items. Alternatively,
hinges made entirely from extruded
aluminium are available, with
various rises.
Fixing systems

EN 1935 brings together all the
performance specifications in a string
that expresses the “classification grade”
or “class” of the hinge tested. The
classification grades go from 1 (the
lowest value) to 14 (maximum value).
Domina HP and Domina HP Cover both
have obtained a grade of 12 to 14, based
on the hinge C/C distance.
The internal components of the
hinge consist of two groups that
are entirely pre-assembled:
- a pin cartridge for lateral
adjustment
- a cartridge with a thrust-bearing
bushing for height and pressure
adjustment.
Hinge assembly and door side
inversion can be completed in just
a few seconds.

The 3-leaves version
Simple and fast
removal of the
wing from the
frame, even with
a three leaf hinge
The 3-leaves version of
Domina HP and Domina HP Cover (Giesse patent) includes removable pins. This characteristic of the hinge simplifies and noticeably
speeds up removal of
the wing from the frame, particularly for
wings already installed
with a pane.
Once the pin is removed using the special extractor, just slide the
wing from the frame
and start the necessary
door maintenance
work. You don't need to
disassemble the upper
hinge, unlike traditional
3-leaves versions.
With just a few simple
operations, the wing
can then be re-attached
to the frame.
The use of removable
pins lets the windowmakers assemble and
transport the door based on their own production requirements.
Plus, the 3-leaves version guarantees excellent vertical alignment of
the wing with the frame.
Domina HP 3-leaves represents the ideal solution for doors with doorclosuring devices.
Tests carried out by
Giesse show that the
use of a 3-leaves hinge,
with respect to a 2leaves one, increase the
real capacity of the fixture by an average of
20 kg.

Fixing systems
One hinge, two
different ways to
fix it to the profile
Frontal fixing of the
hinge to the profile can
be carried out using two
different fixing systems,
which can be chosen
from based on the
requested performance
and the type of
application.
Traditional fixing
(counterplate kit) uses
15 x 20 mm aluminium
counterplates, which
can be used on both
sides to guarantee
applicability for the
largest possible number
of profiles to be

counterplate kit is
available in a version for
flush/integral hinges and
for hinges with a shim,
with two or three wings.
Rapid fixing
(Rapid fixing spreading
dowels – system patent)
uses spreading dowels
of various lengths,
based on the profile
dimensions, available in
a version for not
thermal-break profiles
and for thermal-break
profiles, for all internal
and external
applications.
The double spreading
dowel system provides
for high performance
and maximum reliability.
Installing the hinge to
the profile, without using
plates which are
inserted in the tubular
area, makes the
production process
quicker.
Application of the hinge
to the profile can also
be performed on
already installed doors
and on frames with a
closed perimeter.
The Rapid system is
compatible with both the
flush/integral hinges and
the hinges combined
with a shim.
Both fixing systems do
not require special work
on the profile, but
merely a simple 11 mm
hole, which can also be
performed using the
hole templates in the
door hinge program.

Hinge body made of extruded

Cover offers black anodized hinge bodies (only finishing).
Screw cover plate made of extruded aluminum, removable only

Calculating the door’s maximum weight
To identify the maximum effective weight (P) of the door to be created,
based on all the variables related to the production of a door, such as the
weight, hinge type, fixing type, profile characteristics, and the door
dimensions, proceed as follows:
STEP 1
On the following pages, choose the table
which corresponds to the application:
- hinge type --> 2 or 3 wings
- fixing type --> traditional or Rapid.
STEP 2
Identify the Pmax (maximum weight-bearing
capacity) value, corresponding to the hinge
C/C distance and door type which will be
used (2 or 3 hinges with or without a door
closer).
STEP 3
Decrease Pmax for 20 Kg in the following
cases:
- fixing using counterplate kit --> profile
thickness of 1.5÷1.7 mm
- fixing using Rapid spreading dowels -->
profile thickness of 1.5÷1.9 mm

FMR01 is a drilling machine with manual
descent, made exclusively for DOMINA
HP and DOMINA HP COVER hinges.
FMR01 is a tool which allows work on
FLUSH and STEP profiles, both thermalbreak and not thermal-break, for the
HP COVER 2 and 3 WINGS hinges.
As an option, the drilling tool can be
provided with 2 rollers (one right and one
left) to be attached to the tool in order to
support the profile.
The drilling tool can be positioned on a
flat surface, and can optionally be
provided with a support plate.
The possibility of going from 2 wings to 3
wings work is provided through the
simple insertion/removal of bits in the
tool holder connected to the 6 mandrels.
In particular, the bits which perform the
work on the frame profiles.
Correct placement of the front and rear
mandrels, in relation to the pairing of the
door/frame profiles. The adjustable C/C
distance is due to the possibility of
varying the distance between the front
and rear mandrels. Thanks to the 6
position star base it is possible to record
the C/C distances which are most
frequently used.
In any case, it is possible to have all the
