Organised by: Malaysian National Committee of CIGRE Supported by: Ministry of Energy, Green Technology & Water, Malaysia Tenaga Nasional Berhad Introduction MNC MALAYSIA Itinerary AORC-CIGRE Technical Meeting is a forum for sharing experience and knowledge regarding pertinent technical issues, particularly those affecting power systems in the AsiaOceania region. This year the chosen theme “Towards An Integrated & Interconnected Transmission Power Grid: Challenges & Opportunities” is to gather key information for striking optimal synergy between the demand-driven network expansion and sustainable modernization. The Technical Meeting is scheduled to be held for 4 days, plus one day technical site visit to local high voltage installations. CIGRE Administrative Council will convene a meeting during this event. In addition AORC-CIGRE Council and several regional Panel Working Group meetings are also scheduled to be organised during the period. Sabah is the second largest state in Malaysia after Sarawak, which shares its borders on Sabah's south west region. Along with Sarawak, it also shares borders with East Kalimantan of Indonesia in the south. Its population is made up 33 indigenous groups that communicate in over 50 languages and 80 ethic dialects. The state's geographical structure is a mixture of mountainous regions, beaches and tropical rain forests. One of the most prominent ranges located at the centre of Sabah heartland is the Crocker Range, which houses several mountains of various heights from about 1,000 metres to 4,000 metres.
