Z-clip Panel Attachment
Made from extruded aluminum, Z Clips are the most popular
choice of professional installers because they install in
minutes. Z Clips are available in a wide variety of widths and
lengths. Simply attach the wall Z Rail to wall surface and
drop in the factory attached panel clip and panel assembly.
open
Rigidized® exclusive formed corners are revolutionary
because they require no notching or welding. Formed
corners are a feature of our lightweight aluminum
honeycomb core panel, but are also available with all of our
standard core materials. With certain patterns, Rigidizing
20 gauge material can provide the same impact resistance
of 16 gauge ordinary sheet metal. By reducing the gauge
of the panel face material, savings is realized with both raw
material cost and consumption.
welded
Beautifully finished corners are the hallmark of a superior
quality panel manufacturer. Corners exemplify the attention
to detail and pride in architectural panel construction.
Traditionally two types of corners were available: open and
welded. Not unlike our Rigidized® panel faces, our exclusive
formed corner is anything but typical.

finishes
Example Finishes
Rigidized® Metals offers all standard mill produced finishes for both textured and non-textured distribution, as
well as specialty polished and embossed finishes.
#4 Satin
Hairline Finish
Number 4 finish stainless
steel, commonly referred
to as “satin” finish, is a
general-purpose bright
polish that is the most
popular choice for architectural applications.
Hairline Finish stainless is
commonly referred to as
“long-grain” because the
grain is considerably more
consistent than #4 Finish.
2B Mill
RND
Non-Directional
Vibration
2B or “Mill” finish stainless
steel is a dull, low-reflective finish with no grain
or direction. 2B finish is
not commonly used as
an architectural quality
surface.
B/A
Bright Annealed
Bright Annealed stainless
steel has a “cloudy mirror”
reflective surface.
#8 Mirror
Number 8 polish, or mirror
finish, is polished to a
mirror quality.
14

Rigidized®Non-Directional
polish is a consistently
polished finish that produces a low reflectivity
uniform surface.
Random Swirl
Random Swirl is polished
by hand and as the name
suggests, is completely
random. No two sheets
are the same.
Dull Bead Blast
Bright Bead Blast
A Bead Blast finish in
stainless steel is produced
under controlled mechanical conditions to ensure
consistency and flatness.
We offer this Bead Blast
finish in both Dull and
Bright.

Highlighted Metal
The highlighting process polishes the tops of Rigidized textures to expose the base metal and can be applied to all
colored and powder coated Rigidized textures. Powder coatings are extremely durable, electronically charged and
baked on polyurethane enamels. Powder coating colors include RAL colors, transparencies, and special textured
finishes. Titanium Nitride and light interference coloring are hard, inert, thin, and transparent molecular coatings that
beautify stainless. TiN and light interference coloring coatings are available in golds, bronzes, blues, greens, reds and
blacks.

Deep Textured Perforated and Expanded Metal
With the increasing popularity of expanded and perforated metal the demand to add visual interest has
led many to request texturing. With expanded metal you start with textured stock and finish by expanding. Perforated stock is textured as a final treatment. Both get an enhanced look with the texture
creating a softer glow and reflections of highlights. Contact us to discuss the wide variety of possibilities with deep textured perforated and expanded metals.

sustainability
Sustainability
Rigidized® metals are design-strengthened to last. Long before “sustainability” and “green building” terms were coined, Architects,
Designers and Engineers were specifying Rigidized® for two main reasons:
“Rigidizing”, or deep texturing, allows for the use of lighter gauges (thickness of metal) because of significantly improved
strength-to-weight ratios. Using less metal creates less strain on resources and the environment.
Textured surfaces resist dents and hide scratches and fingerprints, making them last longer and look cleaner than ordinary
metals. Materials and surfaces requiring less maintenance and replacement further reduce the impact on the environment.
Products made from Rigidized® metals simply look better for longer, require less effort to maintain, and are made from fewer
raw materials.
LEED® Credits and Rigidized® Metals
The United States Green Building Design Council created the LEED® program to define a set of national standards for sustainable
building design. LEED® stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. Points and credits are awarded for construction
materials and building features that meet Leed® criteria.
Materials & Resources – Credit 4: Recycled Content
The Recycled Content Credit is intended to encourage the use of materials that contain recycled content. A vast majority of the
metals that we transform are steel and aluminum. Both materials have high levels of recycled content and are 100% recyclable.
Rigidized® materials have significant recycled content that contribute to Credit 4 under Materials & Resources.
Throughout the stainless steel industry, it is widely accepted that any given “heat” of stainless will be composed of the following
materials:
25% post-consumer waste*
35% post-industrial waste*
40% raw materials*
It’s noteworthy that recycled content percentages reflect the long life-cycle and worldwide demand for stainless.
*Source: Specialty Steel Industry of North America
Aluminum is recycled extensively from both post-consumer and post-industrial sources and provides the most valuable component
for most municipal recycling efforts. A recent survey indicated that the recycled content of domestically produced flat rolled products
for building and construction market was approximately 80-85%.**
**Source: Metal Construction Association
Materials & Resources – Credit 5 Regional Manufacture
The Regional Manufacture Credit is intended to encourage the use of building materials that are manufactured within the region of
the project. Under the LEED® rating system, projects within 500 miles of our east cost manufacturing plant can qualify for this credit.

STAINLESS STEEL ALLOY TYPES
304 is the basic chromium- nickel
austenitic stainless steel and has
been found suitable for a wide range
of applications. It is the most readily available in a variety of product
forms. This grade is easy to form
and fabricate with excellent resistance to corrosion.
316 offers more corrosion resistance
through the addition of molybdenum. This grade is desirable where
the possibility of severe corrosion
exists, such as heavy industrial, marine and de-icing environments.
430 is a straight chromium ferritic
stainless steel with lower corrosion
resistance than the 300 series. It is
principally employed for interior use
and is magnetic.
