WELLY STEADY GO....it’s
welly month!
Wear your Wellies for Wildlife is a fun way to fundraise so come this autumn, think
OCTOBER, think welly! Last year over 25 schools and clubs raised over £2,000 which was a
brilliant effort! So your support WILL make a difference.
During the month of October we are asking everyone to put on their wellies for wildlife and raise
some extra cash for the work we do in our county. It really doesn’t have to be a lot, £5.00 could
help us pay for materials to build a barn owl nesting box!
You could be sponsored to stand inside wellies filled with pond weed
or mud or any other slimy filling you can think of!
Wildlife Gardening
Alternatively why not plant up old wellies with
bee and butterfly friendly plants and
encourage them to visit your school/
community grounds or gardens.
Whatever you decide to do, be it welly decorating, baking welly
shaped biscuits to sell or entering our wildlife welly competition, don’t
forget to let us know you are taking part by registering online at
www.gloucestershirewildlifetrust.co.uk/wearyourwellies you will also be
able to download the welly competition and money box template.
We are lucky to live in a BOOTIFUL county! Lets make sure we look after our
wonderful wildlife and wild places whilst having fun as well! One of our nature
reserve managers has left his old welly in the shed, and our competition is to
draw the wildlife that may have made that old welly a home.
