Geographical Position:
Slovakia is an inland state lying in the
middle of Europe. The church of St. John
in Kremnické Bane is considered to be
the geographical centre of the continent.
The shape of the territory is lengthened
in a parallel direction. Slovakia has
borders with Austria, Czech republic,
Poland, Ukraine and Hungary.
Climate:
Slovakia is situated in the northern mild
climate zone. The average temperature is
8 - 10°C .
Useful information
Entrance to the Slovak Republic and
visas
The Slovak Republic is a member of the
European Union since 2004.
There are different rules for citizens of
other EU member countries than for
tourists from other parts of the world.
Citizens of EU member states need a
passport or other ID document to enter
the Slovak Republic. The same is valid
for citizens of Switzerland, Norway,
Iceland and Liechtenstein, who enjoy free
movement around the EEA (European
Economic Area).
Visitors from other countries require a
passport with at least six months validity
on the day of arrival and in some cases a
visa. A list of states whose citizens require
a visa to enter the Slovak Republic can be
found on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
website.

The Slovak Republic entered the socalled Schengen zone in 2007. This
group of countries have come together
to enable people to cross their borders
without passport controls. Despite this, a
valid passport or other ID will still have to
be carried at all times.
Insurance
Visitors from abroad are recommended
to arrange their own insurance before
travelling to the Slovak Republic.
Mountain rescue insurance in Slovakia
is obligatory. Insurance covers mountain
rescue service costs on technical
rescue securing or search action in the
mountains. It is intended for Slovakian
citizens, as well as other nationalities,
who visit the mountains in Slovakia.
Insurance can be arranged for one year or
for a fixed number of days.
Health care
Medical treatment provided for a
fee is stipulated by the appropriate
Slovak regulations or by international
agreements made between the
government of the respective state and
that of the Slovak Republic.
Voltage, sockets, and plugs
220 V, European norm, three-pole
earthed plugs have two pins and a hole
in the plug and one pin with two holes in
the socket.

Typical products and souvenirs
The usual souvenirs, such as magnets,
book markers, postcards and calendars
with images of Slovakia’s beautiful sights,
can be found in many souvenir shops
and tourist information offices across the
country. Dolls wearing traditional folk
costumes are among Traditional Slovak
pottery, majolika or keramika in Slovak,
can be interesting for tourists as well.
Decorated Easter eggs, called kraslice in
Slovak, make a rather fragile but lovely
souvenir from Slovakia too. Many kinds
of traditional souvenirs can be purchased
in shops branded as ÚĽUV - The Centre
for Folk Art Production.

The largest kids winter arena in Slovakia, located at Biela Púť, on an area more than 4 000 m2 with 3 comfortable belt conveyors,
funny animation programs and whole day professional care about your child. There are more than 10 km of blue artificially snowed
up slopes in the resort. You can find the first kids restaurant full of Bernardino dogs in Jasná, Otupné slope. The children will be also
protected by good snow man YETTI that is very happy to take picture with everyone.

Snowpark is located at the boarding station Otupné and is designed in a “funky” style. Snowboarders and Freestyle skiers can enjoy

Jasná Low Tatras is the largest ski area with great conditions for winter sports in Slovakia. Jasná ski resort offers plenty of opportunities
of entertainment and active relax on the northern as well as southern side of Chopok. The resort offers 45 km of perfectly snowed up
slopes different difficulty, suitable for beginners, advanced skiers and also families with children. There are operating 29 cable cars and
lifts with transport capacity more than 30 000 persons per hour at Chopok. Modern snowmaking system in the length of 27 km offers
the snow guarantee for minimum 4 months in a year. The wild ride lovers will be able to enjoy the free ride zones and great snow
park. You can ski in the evening on the two illuminated slopes in Jasná. The length of the winter season is usually from the beginning
of December to the end of April.

Rotunda Restaurant (2,004 m, interconnected station of the cableway Funitel and cableway Chopok South)
In 2013, a new sightseeing restaurant Rotunda came to life on the top of Mt Chopok. At an altitude of 2,004 m, Rotunda is the highest
located restaurant in Jasna ski resort. Rotunda restaurant offers large roof terrace with a capacity of 200 seats, 2 bars with a capacity
of 100 seats and an exclusive view of Tatras and surrounding region.
Von Roll Restaurant (1,670 m, Lukova, Chopok North)
Alpine restaurant with alpine atmosphere lives with the history of the cable car Von Roll. Even the most demanding customers will be
impressed with a perfect culinary tastes, exclusive selection of high quality wine and panoramic view.
Happy End Restaurant & Disco (1,117 m, Biela Púť, Chopok North)
Stylish restaurant (130 seats) with a sunny terrace (100 seats) offers delicious meals and drinks during the day. At night, it is the
biggest music club offering live concerts, productions of well-known Djs and luxurious parties. Champagne Bar Happy End is the only
bar on the slopes offering original Champagne and the widest range of sparkling wine.

Après-ski Bar Lúčky (943 m, Lucky, Chopok North)
New bar presenting luxury connection of contradictory elements of wire and ice will bring you perfect refreshment. Next to the new
boarding station of the cableway Lúčky.
Funibar Priehyba (1,342 m, Priehyba, Chopok North)
New après-ski bar, located at the departure station of the new cable car Funitel, offers pleasant sitting and relaxation for skiers.
Funibar with opening glazed roof and cupola, guaranteeing the splendid view of the Chopok peak during the sunny days, is one of the
first of its kind in Central Europe.
The modern hotels´ wellness and spa centers offer after skiing rest and relax.
Tatralandia Aquapark is located only 15 km from Jasná ski resort. This tropical world offers relax and entertainment you deserve
after day spent on the slopes. Enjoy swimming or snorkling in unique pools with crystal clear, thermal or real salt seawater. The
smallest ones will experience navy adventure on a ship board in the true size.
Party people cannot miss music club Happy End with great Function One system. Club has the capacity of 1000 guests and provides
live concerts, productions of well-known Djs and parties during the whole winter season.
Kosodrevina Restaurant (1,494 m, Kosodrevina, Chopok South)
A self-service restaurant with the sunniest terrace in Low Tatras. Restaurant has capacity of 80 seats and the terrace is for 120 persons.

Modern sunny bar in the immediate vicinity of 4-seat chair lift Srdiečko - Kosodrevina is full of delicious drinks and dynamic music

Located immediately at a ski slope, skiers need to walk only few metres to the cableway
boarding station. Capacity of 157 rooms, including 6 suites and 2 single rooms. All
rooms have a bath and toilet, satellite TV, mini bar, direct dial phone and radio.
Wellness centre offers relax in various saunas, whirlpools, relaxing pool and
adventurous shower.
Located at the beginning of the Demänovská valley, only 6 km from the ski resort Jasná.

The highest situated hotel in the ski resort Jasná is located right at a ski slope of the
centre Chopok Jasná - Luková. Luxury rooms have bathroom, hairdryer, bathrobes,
kitchenette, LCD TV, balcony, mini bar and safe box. Relaxation in wellness centre
gives you an opportunity to admire amazing panoramic view at the surrounding peaks
while you swim in the hotel’s indoor pool. Whirlpool, Finnish sauna, steam sauna and

Hotel has total capacity of 39 rooms (82 beds, 31 extra beds). Cozy rooms and suites
are furnished with natural materials in traditional mountain style. Each room has
bathroom, TV SAT, radio, WiFi, telephone and hairdryer. Experience the true relaxation
in hotel’s wellness and spa - jacuzzi, several saunas, showers, and more.
Very popular ski-in ski-out hotel is located directly on the ski slope Biela Púť.
Comfortable rooms are equipped with a bathroom, TV with SAT programs, radio and
telephone, most rooms have a balcony. Ski rental, ski service and ski school is located
directly in the hotel building. Dry sauna and massages will give you well deserved relax
after day spent on the slopes.
Situated in the ski and tourist centre Jasná Low Tatras - Chopok South, close to the lower
station of the 4-seat chairlift Srdiečko - Kosodrevina. Hotel offers accommodation
in 41 rooms (91 beds and 34 extra beds). The rooms are equipped with furniture in
rustic style, which gives them a pleasant and cozy atmosphere. All rooms have private
bathroom, telephone, colour satellite TV. Completely new wellness centre offers relax
in outdoor whirlpool with view of the mountains, several saunas and relax room.
Located in the centre of Demänovská valley, 7 km to Jasná ski resort. All rooms are
equipped with minibar, color TV-SAT with radio stations, telephone, bathroom with
shower or bath, built-in hairdryer and toilet. Rehabilitation centre is a part of the hotel
is offers relax and treatment procedures - dry sauna, steam sauna (aromatherapy),

Situated near the cabin cable car station of winter centre Chopok sever - Jasná. Hotel
Sorea Šverma has an accommodation capacity of 103 rooms with a total number of 287
beds. All comfortable rooms are equipped with a bathroom, TV with SAT programme,
radio, telephone and a balcony. Ski rental is located right in the hotel buliding.
Situated in the beautiful surroundings of Jasná - location Lúčky, which is connected
witth the ski resort with new chair lift station of the centre Lúčky - Vyhliadka. Bungalows
Lúčky offer overall 53 beds and 11 extra beds. There are available 2 - 5 bedded
bungalows. Each bungalow has a kitchenette equipped with utensils for cooking and
dining, fridge, shower with hot and cold water, toilet, lounge with satellite TV and safe.

Cross-country skiing is an integral part of winter in the High Tatras, along with alpine skiing and ski touring. There are 80 km of crosscountry skiing tracks of various levels of difficulty. The resorts of Tatranská Lomnica and Starý Smokovec offer easy and medium tracks
of standard level. The largest cross-country skiing area in the Tatras is Štrbské Pleso, which offers really professional tracks.

SKIING
PARK SNOW Donovaly offers excellent skiing conditions with great slalom runs, downhill runs, and good conditions for cross-country
skiing and, of course, snowboarding - all accompanied by a high standard of service.
There are more than 11 km of regularly adjusted ski runs and more than 7 km of 17 downhill runs, artificially covered with snow. Here
you will find not only the dominating 6-seat chair lift combined with 8-seat cabin TELEMIX Nová Hoľa, but also 4-seat chair lift Buly
Expres Záhradište and other 14 ski lifts with an overall capacity of 14 100 impatient skiers per hour. Certainly you will not skip the
chance for an exciting night of skiing or the view of snowy hills from a bird’s perspective while paragliding. If you love the adrenaline
rush of snowboarding, you can find the temptation of excellent terrains for free-riding here, peppered with a lot of rails and obstacles,
and jibbing on the U-ramp. You can also visit snowboard club Bulldog. And even more attractions are waiting for you.
In PARK SNOW Donovaly, ski and snowboard rental services, ski-services, and also ski schools for beginners are available.
FunPark
The biggest fun park for kids in Central Europe offers loads of fun, games and competitions. The FunPark is an ideal place to learn how
to ski - 9 Sunkid moving walkways which allow kids to learn to ski much quicker and without being afraid and at the same time have
