art, music, culture and heritage.”
The City of Stirling Arts and Events Program for 2016 will begin with the Summerset Arts
Festival and continue with high quality events throughout the year.
The focus of this year’s program will be:
-
Ensuring there are high quality events on offer to the community all year round,
Supporting businesses and organisations who wish to run events within the City,
Supporting arts and cultural organisations which operate within the City of Stirling,
Providing events which showcase the City’s assets,
Supporting events which provide opportunities to build mutual understanding and
respect between the diverse cultural groups in Stirling, and
Increasing the accessibility and sustainability of the City’s program of events.
Summerset Arts Festival
www.summersetartsfestival.com.au
The Summerset Arts Festival is the City of Stirling’s premier
cultural celebration; jam packed with live comedy, theatre,
music, visual art, children's events and much more! With an
exciting mix of free and low cost events, in 2015 the festival
attracted crowds of around 40,000 to over 50 events held
across the City.
The eighth Summerset Arts Festival will be held over two weeks in January/February 2016
transforming parks, libraries and vacant spaces into pop-up venues, creative spaces and
hubs of activity.
Events throughout the year
http://www.stirling.wa.gov.au/Recreation/Whats-on-events/
The City of Stirling runs events, activities, competitions and workshops throughout the year.
Some of the events featured in the 2016 program will include Mind Your Arts workshops,
The Blink! Photographic Award, NAIDOC Week, Harmony Day, Libraries events as well as
Cultural Development Fund Flagship and Community Events.
The City is looking to ramp up the 2016 program with an increased inclusion of externally run
events which will receive support from the City. This, in addition to the regular programming,
will ensure Stirling stays active and vibrant all year round.
Get Involved
We are seeking artists, entertainers, event/community organisations and venues with
exciting and unique performances, events, projects and spaces to be a part of the 2016 City
of Stirling Arts and Events Program.
We’d also love to hear from potential sponsors, suppliers and individuals wanting to
work/volunteer at the events.
The 2016 City of Stirling Arts and Events Program offers a fantastic opportunity to reach a
wide and engaged audience, showcase your talents/organisation and align yourself with a
reputable brand.
To be considered, all events and activities must be held within the City of Stirling and be of a
high quality, inclusive and accessible to the community.
There are a number of ways to get involved…
Event Producers /Community Organisations/ Local Businesses
If you have an idea for an event or activity that would suit our program, community and
locations we’d love to hear about it. It can be an event you will already be running or
something specifically created for the City of Stirling.
As a part of the program your event/activity would receive significant in-kind marketing and
promotional support and may even be eligible for funding. We may also be able to assist
with other aspects of your event.
Artists/Entertainers
The City of Stirling has historically welcomed performing and visual artists from all around
the country and the world, from musicians, comedians and dancers to filmmakers, illustrators
and painters.
You could take part in an existing event or present your own event at a venue within the City
(arrange your own venue or we can help you find one). There are paid and volunteer
opportunities as well as sales-split arrangements available for ticketed events.
Artists are the lifeblood of the program and we are always keen to make interstate and
international acts and projects accessible to the whole community as well as develop and
feature local talent.
Activity and Entertainment providers
Activities big and small - we want to hear from you!
The City is always on the lookout for new and creative opportunities to bring interaction to
our events. Whether it’s the Kids Kerfuffle obstacle course, our annual interactive art
installation or in support of a variety of other events programmed throughout the year.
Some activities we have featured in the past include:
-
Large scale obstacle courses for kids
Arts and Crafts workshops
Photobooths
Musical activities
Interactive art installations
Cultural tours
Venues
Our events take place all over the City of Stirling and we are always looking for new and
different spaces to bring to life. These venues could be theatres, hotels, galleries, vacant
buildings, shops, restaurants and the list goes on…
You could organise your own event at your venue as part of the Arts and Events program or
we could host a City of Stirling event at yours. Your venue/event would receive substantial
exposure through program promotion as well as increased guest attendance.
If you have a venue that you think would be suitable, tell us all about it!
Sponsors
The Arts and Events program is the perfect opportunity to align your brand with City of
Stirling and connect to our vibrant community. If you are an organisation that complements
community events or the arts, we’d love to hear from you!
Various sponsorship opportunities are available for cash contributions and in-kind services.
As a sponsor you will receive high exposure and significant recognition in the lead up to and
during the events in our marketing and communications as well as sponsor privileges.
If you would like more information please get in touch today!
