Both the Naeba Prince Hotel

ski areas celebrate 50 year
milestones this ski season.
For almost half a century,

Cup. In 2001 the world’s longest gondola,
Naeba-Tashiro Gondola aka Dragondola
was built running a distance of 5.5 kilometers (3.4 miles).
Prefecture is just two short
hours away from Tokyo. Near
Mt. Naeba, the hotel sits
between two exciting ski areas,
Naeba and Kagura. From the
start, as a premier ski area, the
relatively new Naeba Ski Area
was host to the 1973 and 1975
Ski W orld Cups. Naeba
continues to host major ski
competitions including the
Head a little farther north to the island
prefecture of Hokkaido, and spend a few days surrounded by the
beauty of Furano. The original Furano Prince Hotel was built with
114 rooms. In 1988 the New Furano Prince Hotel opened with
12 stories above ground. Just three years ago, a luxurious hot
spring spa facility, Shisai no Yu,
opened to provide guests with the
perfect winter destination. A favorite
with powder enthusiasts and resort
skiers alike, the resort has been host
to 12 FIS World Cups.
