Smith is a vice president in Gartner Research, focusing on the value of IT. Mr. Smith’s principal responsibilities include the development of business performance frameworks and methodologies to help organizations evaluate IT-enabled business initiatives. Mr. Smith’s published research covers topics involving how to use business methodologies such as Kaplan and Norton’s Balanced Scorecard and Six Sigma to demonstrate the business value of IT. Mr. Smith conducts workshops and assessments for Gartner clients and prospects. The Board of Advisors serves as a resource to NCTA by providing advice and feedback; outreach to prospective members; and other assistance to raise NCTA’s profile as the primary voice for North Carolina’s tech sector. WHO IS ELIGIBLE? Membership on the Board of Advisors is limited to one person per NCTA member company/organization. Participation is ideal for individuals who have interest in future service on the NCTA Board of Directors, executives with companies already represented on the Board of Directors and seasoned members of NCTA who wish to have another avenue for higher level engagement. Other suitable backgrounds might include business development, CXOs who bring functionalarea leadership experience, company owners/founders, etc. WHAT’S THE INVESTMENT? Membership on the Board of Advisors is $600 annually in addition to regular NCTA membership dues. Your investment is billed at time of your annual NCTA membership renewal (it can be pro-rated if you would like to join before your renewal month) or at time of joining for new members.
