Two Internet Plant Forums
Dave’s Garden (www.davesgarden.com - $15) and GardenWeb (www.gardenweb.
com - free) are two very fine Internet sites with tons of information and scores of
forums to connect you with gardeners from all over the world including central
Ohio. Highly recommended.
IN ONE YEAR AND OUT THE OTHER
Yet another year has come and gone. Here are some of the highlights you may or
may not have heard about.
In February, Jay Leno left the Tonight Show, this time for good. It’s sad to think
that he’s out of a job and he may have to live in his car. Then again, he does have 130
of them so he’s good for quite a while.
The world lost another great inventor this past year. Herb Lotman, father of the
Chicken McNugget, died in May at age 80. Although he was suffering from an extreme
case of avian flu at the time, he actually died from choking on a hard-boiled egg. He
was buried with a dozen packets of honey mustard sauce. Donations may be made to
the National Irony Foundation in his honor.
LeBron James returned to Cleveland to a rousing welcome from adoring fans who,
just four years earlier, had cursed his name and used his souvenir jerseys to wrap
garbage and line bird cages.
In September, the good people of Scotland
decided to stay on as part of United Kingdom
and turned down a chance to become totally
independent. They asked Sean Connery to become
their Prime Minister but he declined. They also
wanted to make haggis their national currency but
when they realized that no one else would take it,
they decided to stick with the pound and the Queen.
Queen Elizabeth commented that while she was
rather indifferent to Scotland’s show of loyalty, she
was very disappointed that she wouldn’t be seeing
a lot more Sean, her hot hunk of Scottish manhood.
She wrote that she would very much like to ‘night’
him again. When asked if she didn’t mean ‘knight’
him, she replied that her spelling was “correct the
first time, if you catch my drift.”
The dreaded and deadly Ebola virus appeared on the scene in October. Thousands
of Americans died. Ok, that is a slight exaggeration. Actually, no one died, but they
could have. Then miraculously, right after the election, Ebola disappeared. Obviously,
if you have something that’s really scary, hold an election and it will be fixed.
Finally, in December, Cuba decided to remain a part of the United Kingdom and
asked Jay Leno to become their new leader. He answered by taking the Ice Challenge,
as did LeBron James, Herb Lotman, Sean Connery, The Queen, the Ebola virus, and
almost everyone else in the free world, except in California where they outlawed the
practice due to the extreme drought.
We’ve got some real winners in the new plant category this year. Perennials include
the first really red, really everblooming red daylily, Hemerocallis Red Hot Returns.
Another new long bloomer is Phlox Forever Pink, which starts in June and flowers
until fall with no mildew. On the annual side, the mildew-free Fanfare Impatiens are
gone but the new Bounce Impatiens take their place admirably. We have a couple
new coleus, upright Pink Bomb and trailing Color Clouds Hottie, the latter requiring
sunglasses to look at. We have also brought back seed geraniums in six packs. Veggiewise, the new white strawberry, White Carolina, looks cool and it’s tasty too. Then
there’s the Austrian pumpkin Kakai, grown for its absolutely delicious roasted seeds.
Lastly, we will have the first grafted tomato on top and potato on the bottom. I kid you
not. It’s called Ketchup ‘n’ Fries.
Okay, kids, it’s beginning to warm up so let’s get out there and start gardening!
MISSION STATEMENT
It is our greatest desire to provide our customers with top quality, well-grown plant
material at a fair and honest price. We will strive to provide an unmatched selection
of old favorites and underused, hard-to-find items, along with the newest varieties
on the market. We will eagerly share our horticultural knowledge gained from
years of education and experience. Lastly, we offer all this in a spirit of fun and
lightheartedness.
SUSPICION STATEMENT
Apparently, we are constantly being monitored for suspicion of illegal activities by
the CIA, NSA, FBI, DHS, FCC, MSNBC, IBM, NFL and quite possibly the ASPCA.
Someone is probably watching me write this goofy paragraph as well as watching
you read it. To know this at least makes me a little more concerned about personal
grooming.
WE’RE ON A MISSION STATEMENT
Like a beagle tracking a rabbit, like Benedict Cumberbatch’s quest to appear in every
major film production, like binge watchers settling in for ‘House of Cards’ Season 3,
we are on a mission. This mission is to bring you the coolest, most beautiful, most
wonderfully grown plants from around the world. You’re welcome.
SUBMISSION STATEMENT
Our radio ads, our email newsletter, this catalog, and even our greenhouse music are
all filled with subliminal messages designed to force you to submit to our will. You
will buy plants until your car is full. You will tell all your friends about us. You will
think we look like movie stars. Just kidding! We really don’t do that……..or do we?
APPARITION STATEMENT
Apparition is a fancy word for ghost. That reminds me of the couple who had a ‘Sixth
Sense’ open marriage. They were both free to see dead people.
INTERMISSION STATEMENT
This intermission may be used at any time during the reading of this catalog. Feel free
to use the restroom facilities or visit the snack bar for refreshments. When the house
lights are dimmed, please return to your seat in a timely manner and resume reading.
Thank you, The Management.
FRUITION STATEMENT
After months of procrastinating, followed by weeks of dread and days of frantic
cramming, this catalog has finally come to fruition.
RE-MISSION STATEMENT
The act of certain people redefining ‘Mission Statement’ over and over, ad nauseum.
OMISSION STATEMENT
Due to space limitations again, this year’s Omission Statement has been omitted.
THE BIRDS AND THE
POWERS THAT BEES
“Man did not weave the
web of life, he is merely a
strand in it. Whatever he
does to the web he does to
himself.” - Chief Seattle
Your yard is a blank
canvas in which you
can paint a picture of
biodiversity, a paradise
that harbors life instead
of denies it. Pollinating
insects are on the decline
and starving due to
habitat loss in the form
of lawns and monocrop
farming. Please do your part to help feed the Pollinators (which in turn feed us) today!
GOOD BUGS/BAD BUGS
Here at Baker’s Acres, we like a healthy environment. That’s why we have stopped
using neonicitinoids, the bee harming insecticides in common use elsewhere. In
fact, we’ve stopped using most non-organic insecticides altogether. How do we keep
down the populations of bad bugs - aphids, mites, whiteflies and thrips? Nick is using
good bugs - predatory mites, nematodes, tiny tiny wasps, and pirate bugs. Each good
bug he releases has a specific pest that they attack. Not bees, not birds, not pets, not
humans. You’re welcome.
TEE SHIRT TUESDAYS
For years, folks have wanted to buy our tee shirts. Well, now you can. And if you
wear it on a Tuesday in March, April, and May, you’ll get 10% off your purchase. This
cannot be used with other discounts or coupons. As of catalog printing time, we don’t
yet have a price, but it will be reasonable and well worth the investment – and it’s
good for two years. Why, the prestige alone should make you want to get one.
THE BIRTHDAY CLUB
“You say it’s your birthday. Happy Birthday to you!” We are happy to announce the
birth of the Birthday Club. To join, just show us your ID and you are I-N. You must
be a member of the species Homo sapiens and at least 18 years of age. No human
offspring or pets allowed. We’ll give you a free 4” potted annual of your choice and a
treat from the ice cream freezer, pop cooler or our secret stash of goodies. Then the
whole staff will gather ‘round, singing an awful non-traditional birthday song, all the
while ringing bells and blowing those hideous aerosol air horns. Just kidding about
the singing and the horns and stuff.
THANKS, JEAN
Jean Morrison started working for Baker’s Acres over thirty years
ago. Obviously, we were all children at the time. She did a little of
everything but eventually became the perennial person. She is one
of the hardest working people we know and she should get a little
rest and relaxation. Jean lost her beloved husband, Mike, last year
and has decided to take her much deserved retirement. She’ll still
come by and we’ll be glad to see her. Thanks, Jean, for everything.
WHAT IS THIS?
What is this thing you’re reading right now? We’ve struggled for years for the right
term for our catalog. It’s not actually a catalog, having no prices and no descriptions.
It’s too large for a pamphlet. Would that make it a pamph? Is it a brochure...not
sure. We could call it a roster but that could foster a sports allusion. If we called it a
list we would miss the gist of what it’s all about. Printed matter sounds strange and
horticultural compendium is way too stuffy. A booklet implies that it’s almost a book
which in turn implies literature, which this certainly is not. I guess we’ll just have to
call this ‘The Papery Thing with the Words and Stuff’. That’s got a nice ring to it.
TEAM WORK
The way we see it, customers and staff are all on the same team and we both have
important jobs.
YOUR JOBS
• Come here with a smile
• Wear proper shoes and appropriate clothing
• Ask questions so you can be successful gardeners
OUR JOBS
• Come here with a smile
• Wear proper shoes and appropriate clothing (Baker’s Acres shirts)
• Answer questions so you can be successful gardeners
Hey, wait a minute. These two lists are almost the same. The big difference is you
guys get the best parking spaces.
PRICES
There are no prices in this catalog. That’s because we don’t know what they are yet.
Too many factors are yet to be determined in our price making process, not the least
of which is the price of oil. How does that affect flowers? Most of our pots and flats
are made of plastic, which is made from oil. Many of our starter plants are shipped
from points across the nation requiring jet fuel, diesel and gasoline, although we make
every effort to buy locally or regionally. With the price of oil going up and down,
it’s just too hard to set a price at printing time (late February/early March). We will
make every effort to keep things within reason and you can be assured that our prices
will be very fair while our quality will remain high. We certainly are not out to gouge
anyone but we do need to make a profit to stay in business. Otherwise we’d have to go
out and get real jobs.

THE ‘NOT QUITE ALL NIGHT
EXTRAVAGANZA’
This year’s Extravaganza, the 66th annual,
will be held on Saturday, May 23rd from
8 pm until 10 pm. For those of you who
are unaware of this incredible event, it’s a
great big party at night in the greenhouse
and, since it’s at night and kinda dark,
we string loads of lights everywhere and
hope the fuses don’t blow, which they
sometimes do. The lovely Alexandria
Ladies will be serving delicious and
nutritious snacks, coffee, and cookies at
absolutely no cost to you or your loved
ones. Last year, for the first time, we
brought in the fantastic Taco Sherpa food
truck. They were a big hit and we will
definitely have a truck again this year. We
have yet to schedule one at printing time,
but rest assured it will be a good one.
This year’s entertainment will once again
feature the musical and vocal stylings of
Dave Harris and Jamburger, perhaps the
greatest rock and roll band in the history
of music...perhaps not, but they are pretty
darn good, especially the keyboard player.
You’re probably saying to yourself, “That
sounds just like every other ‘Not Quite All
Night Extravaganza’ with cookies, a food
truck, and Jamburger.” But wait, there’s
more! All plants are 10% off the regular
price. Holy Guacamole! Be sure to mark
the date.
When you’re happy, you enjoy the music.
But, when you’re sad, you understand the
lyrics. - Frank Ocean
I’ve been imitated so well I’ve heard
people copy my mistakes. - Jimi Hendrix
To achieve great things, two things are
needed: a plan and not quite enough time.
- Leonard Bernstein
The music business is a cruel and shallow
money trench, a long plastic hallway
where thieves and pimps run free and
good men die like dogs. There’s also a
negative side. - Hunter S. Thompson

‘FEED ME, SEYMOUR’
In April and May, we get really hungry
and none of us have time to bake so
we’re willing to trade food for flowers.
Oddly enough, we call this the ‘Food For
Flowers’ program. We will gladly issue
you $10 in Baker Bucks for one of the
following: a cake, a pie, 3 dozen cookies,
or a coffee cake. Additionally, food that is
actually healthful and non-fattening will
be accepted if it doesn’t require heat or
cold to keep it that way. Finger food would
be helpful. All items must be homemade
and you must call for a sign-up date.
Please limit your offerings to no more than
twice per month to be fair to all. Also,
if possible, we would love to have the
recipe. We can’t tell you how much joy
this brings us even though we have to go
through withdrawal in July.

We used to have two, but,
as always happens, you
lose one. Allie, the crazy
little black dog who used
to love greeting everyone,
passed away last spring. She
was an ornery, stubborn, selfish and truly
delightful dog. Nick brought her home
from a friend’s house in 1999, gave her a
name, and proclaimed her ‘his dog’. Then
he went away to school at OU. From then
on, she was our dog and the greenhouse
mascot. We miss her a lot, especially her
antics.
And then there’s the golden
retriever/hound dog mix
by the name of Daisy. She’s
12ish and still with us. She
doesn’t hear or see very well so she barks
at moving shapes, but once she realizes
you’re not here to do great harm, she’s just
fine. She’s got arthritis, bad breath, lumps
and bumps and she’s a klutz, but she’s a
good dog. Good dog.

CUDDLES
A woman brought a very limp duck into
a veterinary surgeon. As she laid her
pet on the table, the vet pulled out his
stethoscope and listened to the bird’s
chest. After a moment or two, the vet
shook his head and sadly said, “I’m sorry,
your duck, Cuddles, has passed away.”
The distressed woman wailed, “Are you
sure?”“Yes, I am sure. Your duck is dead,”
replied the vet. “How can you be so
sure?” she protested. “I mean you haven’t
done any testing on him or anything. He
might just be in a coma or something.”
The vet rolled his eyes, turned around and
left the room. He returned a few minutes
later with a black Labrador Retriever. As
the duck’s owner looked on in amazement,
the dog stood on his hind legs, put his
front paws on the examination table and
sniffed the duck from top to bottom. He
then looked up at the vet with sad eyes
and shook his head. The vet patted the
dog on the head and took it out of the
room. A few minutes later he returned
with a cat. The cat jumped on the table
and also delicately sniffed the bird from
head to foot. The cat sat back on its
haunches, shook its head, meowed softly
and strolled out of the room. The vet
looked at the woman and said, “I’m sorry,
but as I said, this is most definitely, 100%
certifiably, a dead duck.” The vet turned to
his computer terminal, hit a few keys and
produced a bill, which he handed to the
woman. The duck’s owner, still in shock,
took the bill. “$150!” she cried, “$150
just to tell me my duck is dead!” The vet
shrugged, “I’m sorry. If you had just taken
my word for it, the bill would have been
$20, but with the Lab Report and the Cat
Scan, it’s now $150.”

COMMUNITY BULLETIN BOARD
• HISTORY MONTH
April is History Month at the Alexandria
Museum and this April they are honoring
beloved native son, Sylvester Carlton,
inventor of the medical alphabet. Prior
to 1927, prescription writing was very
confusing, with doctors using all sorts of
different symbols including Phoenician
scripts, Egyptian hieroglyphics, the Greek
alphabet, and even letters they just
made up. It was very challenging to be a
pharmacist and even more challenging to
be a patient. In 1925, due to a misread
prescription, Sylvester’s sister, Mae, grew
a fully functional third eye on the side
of her head. Although she went on to
have a lucrative career with Barnum and
Bailey, Sylvester was quite upset with the
medical community and decided to fix the
problem. In 1927, he introduced what is
now the standard medical alphabet, thus
raising life expectancy from 29 to 72 years
almost overnight. Not only is he revered
in the medical and and pharmaceutical
professions, but the National Assisted
Living Association has a statue of him in
the lobby of their headquarters. Sylvester
Carlton, we salute you.

THOSE WACKY COLEUS
Coleus are the Hawaiian shirts of the
plant world. They are those gaudy little
plants with the multicolored leaves
that you remember from visiting your
grandmother’s house and they seem to
come in and out of favor. Currently they
are popular, mostly because they can be
used just about anywhere and provide an
anchor of color and/or texture in beds
and containers. They shine as either the
stars or the supporting players in garden
combos. Several years ago they changed
the name to Solenostemon, and just
recently to Plectranthus, but in a blatant
act of taxonomic defiance, we refuse
to call them anything but Coleus. Our
collection of named varieties is far beyond
the bounds of sanity at about 150, give
or take 20 or 30. The sad thing is, people
keep bringing us new ones. Even sadder
is the fact that we keep coming up with
new ones of our own. Recently, a fun
new flower brand, Hort Couture, picked
several of our varieties to feature in their
new line of coleus distributed nationally.
Also, Stained Glassworks, another national
brand, chose our ‘Stu Jr.’ to add to its line.
They have renamed it ‘Raspberry Tart’.
And if ya think that’s somethin’, how about
this. Baker’s Acres is featured in the book
by Ray Rogers, ‘Coleus - Rainbow Foliage
for Containers and Gardens’, available
at fine bookstores everywhere. We think
we’re pretty hotsy-totsy now.
The following varieties marked with an
asterisk are Baker’s Acres originals.

COMMUNITY BULLETIN BOARD
• BATTLE OF THE BANDS
This year’s epic battle, as usual, takes
place next Saturday at 7 pm in the school
gym. The first place band receives a twoweek gig at The Hubbub Club Pub out
on the highway and large, gaudy trophy.
Second place receives a plaque and a
free nightlight from The Nightlight Zone.
Everybody gets complimentary packs
of Beemans from Annie Get Your Gum.
Here’s the lineup:
• Density’s Child – This trio sings quite
well but they don’t appear very bright.
Their lead singer, Beyonde, shows
promise, though.
• Alice Scooper – They all met when they
worked at a Baskin-Robbins.
• The Doers – No, they do not play Light
My Fire. Please do not ask again.
• Flu Fighters – Medical professionals
moonlighting as a rock band.
• Gnus N’ Roses – The house band at the
Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden.
• Ten Inch Nails – These guys are all about
one-upmanship. They previously called
themselves U3.
• The Gold and White Stripes – Some
people see them as the Blue and Black
Stripes.

THE BATHROOM
People come from miles away just to see
our bathroom and for very good reason.
It is always spectacularly amusing. Nancy
said way back that we should always
design a really cool bathroom and then
change it every two years. The previous
bathroom, the famous and award-winning
Man Cave, was finally retired after being
held over for an extra year. We are
replacing it with ????? You’ll just have to
come out and see it.

SUCCULENTS
Nick Baker has taken a real liking to the
succulents. These are the different families
of plants that are mostly native to the
drier regions of the world. They have very
fleshy foliage that comes in a variety of
colors and interesting shapes, sometimes
with thorns, sometimes with gorgeous
flowers. As a toddler, Nick fell into a bowl
of cactus...kinda like Peter Parker getting
bitten by a radioactive spider, but as far as
we know, Nick has no superpowers.
SUCCULENTS All require high light and
should be kept on the dry side.

COMMUNITY BULLETIN BOARD
Monica Zirkle’s husband, Dirk, has a job
collecting golf balls out at the Hack Land
Driving Range on Hardscrabble Road. He
used to get covered in welts and bruises
until he devised a protective cage to keep
the golf balls from hitting him. He’s very
happy with it, so much so, that he even
takes his lunch break out on the range
just in front of the 150 sign. The device
has proven very versatile at home, seeing
as how Dirk is not the neatest guy in
the world and Monica has a penchant
for throwing things. He even uses it
on the annual Weasel Drive that takes
place every fall. He and a bunch of guys
from the Hardscrabble Hunt Club tramp
through the woods rounding up all the
weasels. They don’t do anything with them
and let them go unharmed; they just do it
for the fun of it. Dirk says that the pesky
little devils always go for your eyes or your
arm pits and his cage comes through like
a champ.

This year the herbs will be in the
greenhouse beside the vegetable house.
Besides these plants, we also offer
packaged seed, bulk seed, potted
horseradish, Jersey Knight asparagus
roots, seed potatoes, onion sets, and the
new pink-flowered strawberry hybrids,
Frisan and Toscana, in hanging baskets.
I used to be into ‘forbidden fruit’, but
I’ve moved on to ‘verboten vegetables’.

RADIO ADS
We advertise on 610 WTVN’s “In the Garden with Ron Wilson”, a two-hour callin gardening program that airs Saturdays at 10 am. Ron is very entertaining and
dispenses a great amount of sound horticultural advice. Our ads can also be heard at
various other times on WODC 93.3 (FM) and WCOL (AM). We also do TV spots on
WCMH NBC4 and WBNS Channel 10. Be sure to look for them. The radio spots are
‘oddly different’, much like the pair that appears in them: Chris Baker as himself and
buddy Chris Calvin as ‘Cal, The Voice of Baker’s Acres’. The theme song was written
and produced by Mr. Baker and performed by his musical cronies, aka The Baker’s
Acres Orchestra and Chorus. For the sake of their professional careers they have
asked not to be identified. If you were unfortunate enough to hear the theme song
previously, it is probably still playing over and over in your head until, desperate for
relief, you’ve resorted to self-medication.
WEB SITE, NEWSLETTER & FACEBOOK
Many of you web-surfer-type folks have asked if we have a website. As they say in
technological Internet jargon…yes, we do. The site has received a brand new facelift
and went live in March of 2014. Many thanks to the good folks at Ipso Web Design in
Akron for all their hard work in the redesign. The new site is much easier to navigate
and has a lot more information. In fact, if you want to download this catalog in PDF
form, there is a button to click. We will also announce any special events, share special
information and offer a live inventory of plants. We are still updating all the plant
pictures and descriptions, a monumental task. Please bear with us. Be sure to add the
word ‘greenhouse’ to the website name - www.bakersacresgreenhouse.com.
Since we have discontinued mailing catalogs and sale postcards due to the high cost
of postage, we have started an Email Newsletter, to be sent seven or eight times a year
to keep you abreast of the latest happenings here at the Acres. To sign up, go to the
contact page and follow the directions. We promise not to share your email addresses
with anyone.
Oh, and for those of you who are facially bookish, Baker’s Acres Greenhouse is on
Facebook. Just look us up in the search box. Be sure to get the Ohio Baker’s Acres
(there are two others in New York and Indiana, no relation). Become a fan and get the
latest and greatest Acres Info.
THE 10% CARD
We like to reward our frequent flower buyers. If you’re here a lot, we have a program
for you. Here’s the deal: you can purchase a 10% off, non-transferable card from us for
$50. This may be used all of 2015 for any purchase. Simply present it to the cashier
when checking out. It should be a simple way to save some money if you spend a lot of
it here at the Acres.
SUMMER BREAK
This year, in an effort to make sense out of the S-L-O-W summer garden center
business in July and August, we will close the garden center from the end of July until
the end of August. We will reopen on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in September
for fall mum and perennial sales. People have other summer things to do in August
- vacations, school starting, fairs and festivals, loafing. Very few folks want to buy
plants and who can blame them. Check the website or sign up for the Email newsletter
to get the latest on our summer hours. If you absolutely need something, give us a call.
We’re here watering, pruning, cleaning, and propagating.
45
BUS TOURS
We seem to have become a destination for garden clubs, horticulture classes, Master
Gardener groups and other various gardening gangs. If your group would like a tour,
just call us to set up a time (please, no weekends in May). There are several good
restaurants in nearby Granville if you’re looking to add lunch to the trip. We can
handle anything from a van full to a busload or two so bring ‘em on.
OUR GUARANTEE
In a perfect world everything that you buy here would be …well…perfect, but we all
know imperfection is part of our normal lives. Around here we strive for perfection,
but if that less than perfect thing happens, here are our guarantees and conditions.
• All plants and all hardgoods are guaranteed and may be returned in resaleable
condition, for store credit, exchange, or cash refund, for up to five days. Resaleable
condition is defined as growing in the original healthy state, in the original container,
and with the original tags or packaging.
• Perennials are guaranteed from time of purchase until October 15th, with receipt,
for store credit only. Winter wetness is usually the culprit in perennial failure and is
beyond our control.
• Outdoor trees and shrubs are guaranteed for one year from time of purchase, with
receipt, for store credit only. This tree and shrub guarantee may be waived at the time
of purchase by the customer in exchange for 10% off the purchase price.
• Any plant that leaves our greenhouse with a disease, insect problem or an incorrect
tag may be returned with no questions asked. Unconditionally.
• This guarantee does not cover death or damage caused by Mother Nature such as
flooding, winds, frost, drought, rabbit and deer browsing, locusts, stampedes, or giant
armadillos. We reserve the right to void any guarantee due to CUSTOMER NEGLECT
or ABUSE. How can we logically be held responsible for something over which we
have no control? Replacement plants are not guaranteed. All sale items are final for
anything 50 percent off or more and are not guaranteed.
CUSTOM POTTING
Dig this! We offer a custom potting service. Here’s the scoop.
• Bring your own pots and we’ll design your containers for you.
• Give us about 1 week lead time.
• Know your light requirements
• $50 per hour plus the price of the plants. Cost includes soil and labor.
Need help designing? Call Nick or Pam for a design appointment.
SMALL WORLD
Fairy Gardens, Terrariums and Garden Railways are very popular right now and we
offer many smaller plants and accessories for these fun ways to garden.
ORGANICS
You want organic? We’ve got organic. We now offer organic lawn, flower and
vegetable fertilizers exclusively. We will try to offer beneficial ladybugs and praying
mantis eggs, but these are sometimes hard to obtain. Check with us. Again this year,
all our vegetables and herbs will be fed with organic fertilizer. They are never sprayed
with chemicals. We can’t say that they are Certified Organic - that certification is very
costly and hard to obtain - but we do make every effort to grow them in a responsible
and organic way.

NOTES
These ‘Notes’ pages are common sights in catalogs because of the way catalogs are
constructed - in units of four pages. If you don’t have enough material to fill exactly
four pages, people label the empty pages as ‘Notes’ pages. We’ve never been clear on
what kind of notes they mean. Are we supposed to take notes on a lecture or slide
presentation (who can see, the lights are so low)? Are we supposed to rip the pages
out and send them as thank you notes or put notes on the refrigerator (Wendell, we’re
out of beer again. And get some milk and bread while you’re out). Here’s your ‘Notes’
page, what’s left of it. You figure it out.
