2015 BIG HEAD CORPS
The Big Head Corps is a group of dynamic Young Professionals that help to support The Parade Company’s mission by
raising funds towards the preservation and restoration of the world’s largest papier mâché head collection. Celebrating its 8th
anniversary, this group hosts events and activities throughout the year in Metro Detroit, as well as participating as a unit in
America’s Thanksgiving Parade presented by Art Van. “Head Honcho” Sean Harrington is heading up the group this year, and
has many exciting events planned, along with the creation of a new head, which will be unveiled in the fall.
One of The Parade Company’s grandest attractions is the world renown papier-mâché head collection. These colorful artifacts
were originally acquired from artists in Viareggio, Italy with several dating back to the 1940s. The ever expanding collection of
nearly 300 heads are restored by the seasoned artists at The Parade Company that have been trained by the talented artisans
from Viareggio. These cherished parade characters can be seen throughout the year in the studio and along the parade route.

The doors open behind the scenes at The Parade Studio to
launch the 2015 America’s Thanksgiving Parade season.
Sponsors, VIP’s and the media converge on Paradeland
are invited to enjoy a ‘sneak peek’ of the working parade
studio as the staff and countless volunteers prepare for the
upcoming parade.
Detroit’s premiere family event, Hob Nobble Gobble®,
is now the Friday before Thanksgiving at Ford Field. An
unforgettable night of enchantment and wonder celebrates
America’s Thanksgiving Parade® presented by Art Van.
This black tie event is an over the top evening filled with
national caliber talent, live music, fantastic food and a full
carnival midway on the field with rides and games.

The Parade Studio is the site of the much anticipated annual
Pancake breakfast. This business networking event features
‘celebrity flapjack flippers’ showcasing their cooking skills!
Parade sponsors, media, civic dignitaries and business and
community leaders celebrate this unique parade kick-off
event. Paul W. Smith broadcasts his WJR morning show live
from the breakfast.
Included in membership
Hundreds of thousands of spectators line Woodward Avenue
to view the fantastical floats, balloons, marching bands,
clowns and celebrities. The two hour parade is featured
locally on WDIV Local 4, and one hour of the parade is
televised nationally, broadcasted to over 74.5 million
households.

form with the name of the head you would prefer to wear in the parade. Please be aware that each head fits
differently. Head choices are NOT confirmed until a costume fitting is done at the parade studio. While there
are duplicates of some of our heads, most are unique and one of a kind. Quantities of each are noted in the
circle. Please schedule your head fitting early to ensure you get your preferred head!
