Holy Name of Jesus School GATOR GAZETTE January 19, 2016 Volume 29 Issue 20 PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE Dear Holy Name Family: I hope everyone had a wonderful three-day weekend and enjoyed the extra time off. This week we have the Book Fair in the Lobby. A special thanks to everyone who is making this possible! Tomorrow, all are invited to join HNJ Parish for Community Dinner at 6:30 PM in the Basement. The Book Fair will be open during dinner, as well. We will also have a representative from Camp Stanislaus speaking about the summer camp at 7:15 PM in the Auditorium. Registration for returning families begins next Monday, January 25 and is open for the entire week. More details will follow this week with instructions on the re-enrollment process. Open House is next Tuesday, January 26th from 4:30-7:00 PM. We need volunteers to give tours to prospective families. The Beta Club will be offering free Beta-Sitting to our volunteer parents. If you are available to be a tour guide, please contact Libby McGinn at [email protected]. Students will be dismissed early (PK/K-11:55; 1st-4th-12:05; MS/Walkers12:15), and there will be no Later Gators. On Tuesday, February 2 Louisiana Pizza Kitchen Uptown is hosting an HNJ Night! A percentage of their proceeds for the night will go to HNJ. Just let them know you are there for HNJ! As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you need anything! There are several items in lost and found without identification, and this would help greatly in reuniting them with their owners! COLLECTING FOR EDUCATION IN AND AROUND HNJ Great Season Congratulations to the 4th/5th/6th Red Soccer Team on a great season! They finished Runner-UP in the NOAL Championship Game on Friday night. Thank you to Mr. Hudlow and Ms. New for coaching! It's that time again to collect for HNJ! Please start to Shrek Jr. the Musical collect you BOX TOPS, Mark your calendars for March 3, 4, 5! COMMUNITY COFFEE, We are kicked off the show on Saturday and LABELS FOR with sign-ups and auditions. It's going to EDUCATION. be great! This collection cycle is a HOMEROOM CONTEST. Send your labels in with your homeroom clearly marked on February 19th. The winning homeroom will be announced on February 29th, and they will earn a prize! LET'S SHOW HOW MUCH WE LOVE HNJ! A HEART RENEWED “A Heart Renewed” is a wonderful Lenten opportunity for parents and parishioners to pray with scripture in a small group setting. Please find out more by reading this flyer. Facebook Instagram Website FROM THE OFFICE Arrival/Dismissal: Please follow all rules for drop-off and pick-up to help ensure the safety of everyone. Early Check Out Procedure: We ask that you make all necessary appointments for your child after school hours. However, if you need to check your child out early, you must come to the school office prior to 2:45 p.m. and sign them out. The office staff will call for your child to meet you in the office. No students will be dismissed after 2:45 p.m. This is done to ensure the safe dismissal of all students. Thank you for your cooperation. Transportation Changes: To ensure the safety of your children, changes in your child’s afternoon transportation should only be made in the event of an emergency. If an emergency occurs, please notify the school office of any transportation change no later than 2:30 p.m. Please note that play dates and after school activities do not constitute an emergency.
