What do we develop in our hotels?
At the beginning we were essentially focused on mandatory requirements for bedrooms and basic accessibility, however we felt the
necessity to improve the overall accessibility of the hotels:

Installing additional ramps or lifts;
Decreasing route lengths;
Decreasing stairs;
Increasing the width of the gates and corridors;
Increasing the size of accessible rooms;
Increasing the size of showers in accessible rooms;
Locating designated areas near the entrances.

Partnership agreements with specialized companies for:
Transport vehicles (fully adapted vehicles for passive as well as active driving);
Specialized equipment'(Wheelchairs, pool lifts, ramps, Electric Scooters, Stair climbers);
Therapists.
In 2014 we created a internal committee to develop this specific product:
The necessities of the hotels were checked;
We are starting partnerships with private healthcare groups to create offers together;
We are studying the possibility to begin the certification process for NP 4523/2014;
We will create specific products and publicise them.

Challenges:
Employee seminars and training (Communication);
Improve specific equipment (menus, phones, signs, etc.);
Improve structures in older hotels;
Improve information for guests on accessible leisure, recreational and historical places of interest in the local area;
Develop maps identifying the accessible routes surrounding hotels;
Involve municipalities in improving accessibility in general.

2011 e 2012 –Ireland Paralympics team in Vila Galé Coimbra;
2013 e 2014 – Christmas Dinner for Associação Salvador in Vila Galé Ópera;
2014 – Large group of guests participating ISAAC congress in Lisbon;
In fact the number of people who come to us for these services has increased; together with the very positive general feed back which
has been received.
