Our organization is focused on fostering special memories with our daughters as well as providing financial support to Sacred Heart. This year we were successful in expanding upon the accomplishments for both of these objectives. The Fathers’ Association events this past year included the Fathers’ Day at School in October, the Father-Daughter Mass and Brunch in November, a day of service in December, bowling in January, the Father & Daughter Dances in February, a DUI and distracted driving simulator in March, and the Steve Dugan Golf Classic in May. The Fathers’ Association also assisted the Building and Grounds committee with a Clean-up Day on the campus. My tenure as president of the association ended June 30, 2015. Bruce Staniorski is our President for the 2015 - 2016 school year. I wish Bruce the best of luck this coming year. All fathers are welcome to join; your ideas and assistance are needed for our success. Our goal is to deliver high quality school events, foster a spirit of good will within the school community and assist Country Day School of the Sacred Heart in financial support and opportunity to the faculty and students. This year as a result of great commitment and support we were able to accomplish our goals. Our first major fundraiser of the year was Christmas at the Mansion. Held in November, this event was a wonderful and festive way to kick-off the holiday season. The Sacred Heart Moms together decorated and filled the Mansion with warm and charming feelings of Christmas. The highlight of the evening was the angelic voices of the choir. The annual auction and dinner dance is the most important fundraiser of the year. This year our event was truly, A Night to Remember! The event was held at Overbrook Country Club on March 7, 2015. The generosity of parents, faculty and staff made this one of our greatest years yet! We are extremely grateful to all who supported our event as volunteers, donors and especially those who were able to attend. The evening was filled with fine food, dancing and the wonderful spirit of the Sacred Heart community. The Mother-Daughter Mass and Luncheon was held at Springfield Country Club and a great time was had by all. Attendance was excellent and new traditions were initiated. Girls matriculating from Lower and Middle School were acknowledged, as were our graduating Seniors. The morning began with a lovely Mass, followed by shopping, luncheon and lots of dancing. A special moment was shared by the Pre-K and Senior students on the dance floor. Through the year, smaller fundraisers were also very successful. The school benefited financially from Innisbrook Gift Wrap Sale, SCRIP, Target Red Card, Giant, Amazon Smile and Box Tops. The Mother’s Association coordinated Back to School Nights, Santa’s Secret Workshop, Teacher Appreciation Week, the Fall and Spring Book Fairs and the Senior Graduation Reception. It was the time and commitment of our dedicated Sacred Heart Mothers that make all that we accomplished possible. Our goals cannot be accomplished without our mothers. Thank you to everyone who has shared her talents and time with us. I thoroughly enjoyed my year as President and feel lucky to have been inspired by so many gifted women who are great role models for our daughters. Please consider joining the team of volunteers. At the conclusion of the visit, the Visiting Committee reported its findings. CDSSH received an official letter from the Network validating the committee’s observations as well as our commendations and areas of improvement. The Action Plan Committee will address the identified areas: becoming better stewards of our environment and exploring religious diversity. Annual Fund Lunch for the Classes of 2016 and 2017 Both classes achieved 100% Annual Fund participation and were rewarded with a pizza and salad lunch. Everyone enjoyed the festivities which netted $148,959! This was the most successful auction yet! Spring Musical Directed by Carolyn Curran Slota ’81, Light up the Dark: A Musical Re Vue du Coeur was a huge success. Golf Classic The 7th Annual Steve Dugan Golf Classic held on May 4th was chaired by Jim McGuckin. 136 golfers participated. The event netted $31,602. This was the most successful golf classic yet!
