Visit of Chief Patron and GOC of 17 Infantry Division
The Chief Patron of AIBA, Sylhet Major General Mohammad Humayun Kabir, SUP,
rcds, psc visited AIBA campus on 08 Feb 2015. During his visit the chairman of
AIBA Governing Body, the members and the Director were present. The Chief
Patron gave valuable suggestions for development of the institute and expressed
his satisfaction on the ongoing progress of AIBA, Sylhet.
Co Curriculum Activities:
Debate Competition
AIBA, Sylhet organized a four day long Debate competition in August 2015. Four
debating groups participated in the competition held at AIBA campus. The final
competition was held on 22 Aug 2015. In the competition Debate Rangers group
became champion while the Logical Deviation team was runner up. Tahmin Tahia
of BBA-1 of the Debate Ranger team was judged as the Best Debater of 2015. Brig
General Md. Zahirul Islam, ndc, psc, G (retd), Director, AIBA gave away prizes to
the winners. The panel of Judges comprised Mr. Md. Kawsar Mia, Deputy Director
(Program), Major (Retd) Tariqul Islam Mazumdar, Deputy Director (Admin &
Finance) and Mr. Muhammad Zaman Shopon, Section Officer.
Workshop on Self Development
AIBA, Sylhet arranged a workshop on Self Development on 19 October 2015, for
the students of BBA program. The theme of the workshop was Professional
Inauguration Event: Self Development Career at First Sight. The guest speaker
was Mr. Mohammed Masud Rayhan, Manager, Learning & Development, City
Bank Ltd. Brig General Md. Zahirul Islam, ndc, psc, G (retd), Director, AIBA was
also present at the event. Mr. Kawser Mia, Deputy Director (Program) moderated
the workshop. Major (Retd) Tariqul Islam Mazumdar, Deputy Director (Admin &
Finance) and Mr. Muhammad Zahiduz Zaman Shopon, Section Officer was also
present.
Orientation Program
AIBA, Sylhet arranged orientation program for BBA Fall Semester (2nd Batch), and
MBA (Evening & Executive) 1st batch on 13 Sept 2015 and 08 Oct 2015
respectively. The Director of AIBA, Sylhet inaugurated the program. Among the
faculty members - Prof Ahmed Kabir, Prof Ashaque Miah, Prof Nazrul Islam and
Associate Prof Faruk Uddin and Asst Prof Mr. Mohammad Rajik Miah were
present at the event. The speakers emphasized on the qualitative dimension of
teaching and basic requirements for the students to acquire knowledge to be able
to meet the needs of changing business world.
Lunch with Faculty members
As part of the Faculty Members’ Orientation Program a lunch was organized on
09 Sept 2015 at the Station Officers Mess, Jalalabad Cantonment. All faculty
members and officials of AIBA, Sylhet were present at the occasion.
First Parents Meeting
A Good will Information Exchange Program was held on 11 June 2015 with
Guardians/Parents of the students at AIBA, Sylhet Campus. The main purpose of
the meeting was to inform the parents about the academic activities of the
institution and planning for student’s academic advancement. Brig General Md.
Zahirul Islam, ndc, psc, G (retd), Director, AIBA spoke on the occasion. All officials
of AIBA, Sylhet attended the program.
Study tour
As a part of co-curriculum activities of the students, a study tour was conducted
at Bangladesh Tea Research Institute (BTRI), Srimongol on 03 Nov 2015. The aim
of the visit was to enrich students’ knowledge on the contribution of tea
resources on economic development of Bangladesh. Faculty members and
officials of AIBA, Sylhet also accompanied the visiting team.
Upcoming events:
Football Competition
The AIBA Sports club is going to organize a Football competition in the first week
of December 2015 at Jalalabad Cantonment play ground. The match will take
place between two football teams of BBA-1.
Parents Meeting
The second parents’ meeting of AIBA, Sylhet will be held on 28 Nov 2015. Parents
of all the students are expected to attend the program.
Essay Competition
On the occasion of Armed Forces Day of Bangladesh on 21 Nov 2015, an essay
competition has been organized. Competition will be held on two topics as
follows:
1. Liberation war of Bangladesh
2. General Ataul Gani Osmani the Commander in Chief, Mukti Bahini, 1971
Bangladesh Liberation war
Winners from each category will be awarded with prizes in the 4th week of Nov
2015.
